Today’s team
COYR
-
Good team and bench today let’s get the season back on track
-
Best looking team for a while! Need this result to get back on track.
-
Looks a good line up to be fair, I just hope Bostock and Smith know when to cover each other, if Ipswich scouts have anything about them they will press us high, I think they did that against Hull
-
I think that is our best 11 really hopefull of a result now
-
Anyone know what’s up with Butler? I suppose with John on the bench Moore might just think we don’t need cover.
I’d have left Richards out for Robertson but other than that think it looks about right.
-
Our best 11 on paper that. Fingers crossed everything clicks together
-
Looks a good line up, now let's put it in practice and do the business!
-
Agree, looks the strongest line up we've put out for some time. Be interesting to see how Fej gets on out wide with Bogle ahead of him.
I really hope the lads can get some good service in to Bogle today, as I think he's worked really hard up front, and just hasn't had the service he deserves.
COYR!!

don’t think it’s anything butlers done wrong but I think Wright and Anderson are the better pairing for playing the ball out from the back and in the future that will probs be the partnership. Butler is a good option to have against teams lower in the table and teams who will play hoofball as he’s a good leader and strong in the air but butler is too slow on the ball and against the top teams he will get caught out
-
I have my doubts about that centre midfield tbh. Bostocks not yet fit and Richards can disappear for large chunks of a game. Smith gives the ball away too much.
If it clicks its going to look fantastic, it it doesn't we'll get overrun again.
Anyone know if the Town wingers are any good?
-
Excellent line up. Come on lads!
-
We (mostly) approve of the team selection then, see what we know lol
-
Wow, 4-4-2. Its a long time since I saw that at Rovers.
-
I’m not sure it will be a 4-4-2.
-
Wow, 4-4-2. Its a long time since I saw that at Rovers.
It's 4 2 3 1.. Bogle up top on his own, fey out wide..
-

That’s how I saw it.... with Sims wide right.
Sims and Fej will have defensive duties too.
-
That's a great looking line up, if they click, Fej & Bogle could cause havoc.
-
Come on you Reds... :scarf:
-
That’s a strong line-up for me.
If they all perform to their ability we can definitely win this.
Looking for a bit of magic from Sims today.
Come on you reds!!
-
:scarf: Come on you reds !!!
-
No way Fej wss offside there. That ball went a long way and he ran past the defender. Another dodgy linesman?
-
Bogle not too happy with his service...again
-
Tom has just clattered Ellery. Bit of revenge, eh lad?
-
1:0
-
Shit
-
That went in on the keepers side.
-
Was it even a free kick? Not shown a replay
-
Never a free kick that. Richards gets his body between the ball and the man and the ref gives a free kick. Shocking refereeing again
-
Really wasted free kick from Richards there.
-
Refs are going to give something like that all day long nowadays
-
Need to changes things around. To slow in the build up.
-
Not sure if that free kick goal should of stood really where the Ipswich player was stood but no complaints from rovers players
-
Is Balcombe capable of catching and holding on to a lofted in ball?
-
We've started the game like DM has revved them up, you can see them trying, but its just not there. James has been uncharacteristically poor, as has Richards.
-
We're well in this - just need it to click...
-
That was unlucky.
-
How has that not gone in?
-
It's coming COYR
-
We have recovered our composure and are playing well.
-
Another team who have piled men in the 6 yard box and targeted balcombe from corners
-
Sims should of scored that in bottom corner
-
We need to look at our team in context, yes individually many do have certain skills that are very good, yet we come up against far better players which is baffling,...
we are now looking like a team without a plan, and find ourselves chasing games
Our keeper has gone from very safe to “ oh no ...another set piece”
We need to create more and prevent more .....and start bossing teams with our supposed better players,...because the top six is looking shaky on this trajectory
-
Sims should of scored that in bottom corner
Should HAVE
-
Okenabirhie is way off form today and James playing really well today. Richards is doing better and nearly scored there. Bostock looks a good signing he’s running it.
-
Frustrating as we've had chances to get back into it, but we've upped the speed of approach play as the half went on which is what we really needed to do IMO.
-
We're doing the right things. If the score was 0-0 i think we'd be saying that was a decent half and the game is there for the taking... just keep doing what we're doing etc.
-
We’ve been the better team in that first half, that was a kick in the nuts to concede from that free kick. Very well taken but I’d be expecting Balcombe to get to that, it was the perfect height for a save and he had enough time to get across to it.
We should keep playing as we are and I’m sure something will come.
We’ve already shown last week that our heads don’t drop when we’re behind so let’s go again this half.
Just don’t concede any more from set-pieces, please!
-
Lokilo for fej
-

On that showing I think Copps would be more productive out on the right than Fej has been.
-
Still not sure should of counted here the Ipswich player was stood not sure he was a metre away when taken
-
Where was yellow card for taking out Richards?
Ref has warned enough of them but probably though 2 minutes plus had gone by so we would have forgotten
Yet another tame free kick for their goal as well imo
-
Keep the faith..... :scarf:
-

Exactly, he at least obstructed Balcombe's view of the free kick. I said when the referee blew his whistle that he couldn't stand there - ref oblivious to it. (as well as the commentators).

Again, the referee not doing his job. He played the advantage, even though Bogle had nowhere to go, and when the ball did eventually go out of play....nothing.
-
Bell END
Sims should of scored that in bottom corner
Should HAVE
Illiterate....
-
2:0
-
Fej ... what the hell was he thinking there!! ... a backward header !!
-
Dreadful defending, AGAIN!
-
I dare say this is our strongest 11 and its just not a good enough team to be fighting for a top 6 place
-
Embarrassing this. Cant defend set pieces, and messing around with it at the back.
-
What the hell has happened. We looked unbeatable not that long ago and now we look absolutely woeful
-
We’ve gifted them this game.
-
Fej ... what the hell was he thinking there!! ... a backward header !!
It wasn’t an intentional backwards header.
-
Simms off ??
-
Sunderland and Lincoln both currently losing
-
I dare say this is our strongest 11 and its just not a good enough team to be fighting for a top 6 place
It's not our strongest 11
Fej shouldn't be playing on the left he should be alternated with Bogle
-
We just arn’t good enough.
-
We’ve gifted them this game.
Not over yet....
-
Time to get the goat on?
-
Half an hour but can't see anything coming from this for us
-
Robertson will do the job for us here
-
Hate to say but we *really* miss Whiteman.
-
A goal for us changes this. Half an hour left.
-
Bell END
Sims should of scored that in bottom corner

Bob, are you the man who had a go at someone recently for making an unnecessary and uncalled for jibe at another poster.
Tut tut.
-
It's almost as if DM has too many options and can't decide who to pick
-
Lots of nice build up play followed by a rubbish final ball
-
Lots of nice build up play followed by a rubbish final ball
Up to now we've had 70% possession!
-
Hate to say but we *really* miss Whiteman.
Dont agree. Bostock is our best player by a mile but we cant defend and have a keeper who wants to punch everything.
-
Lots of nice build up play followed by a rubbish final ball
Yeah but that final ball is often the most difficult one to get right.
Bogle might have done better there.
-
I’ve become numb to these games now.....gifting set pieces and conceding at leisure...
I’ll personally be happy to remain in this division permanently because the Championship would turn my numbness into a coma,
It feels like we had a good run exploiting our oppositions weaknesses , but have now developed a glaring weakness that we are ill afforded to stop ....defending set pieces !
Let’s sit back and let those equipped to qualify for the autos and play offs just get on with it....
We need to think about next year and get a more seasoned defense and goalkeeper...
Not a meant negative post, but one borne from our current circumstances...
-
2 -0 down and make to like for like subs ?
Just not seeing what Darren is seeing at the min
-
I don’t know what has happened to Jon Taylor but he is awful at the moment
-
How Taylor has got on before Lokilo I dont know, Taylor has looked awful recently and has come on and looked the same.
-
Far too easy to play against at the minute.
We appear to have disappeared up our own arse trying to pass it around for the sake of it, without ever really looking much of a threat.
All Ipswich have done is sit off us and wait for us to make mistakes and give them set pieces, which we have done. They haven’t been pro-active at all, just given us a gun and waited for us to shoot ourselves in the foot.
Frustrating. Losing patience with this pedestrian style a bit.
-
Could the re-loaning of Josh Sims be synonymous with the disappointing re-loaning of Conor Grant?
-
Hate to say but we *really* miss Whiteman.
Dont agree. Bostock is our best player by a mile but we cant defend and have a keeper who wants to punch everything.
Midfield is the only place we look good, our problem is we're currently shit in either box.
-
Simms off Taylor on makes us weaker
-
Mick Mills just said we are a good team but we offer nothing in attack. Bogle confirms this by missing an open goal from about 3 yards.
-
Bent ref!
-
Halliday fouled on the edge of the box and nothing given again.
-
I would like to genuinely know what Taylor offers that Sims doesn't.
-
I’m not liking much about Bogle yet from what I’ve seen. He’s not dynamic.
-
Could the re-loaning of Josh Sims be synonymous with the disappointing re-loaning of Conor Grant?
Thought that myself been crap again today.
Bogle had 2 good chances you'd have thought they fell to a goalkeeper how crap both attempts were
-
I suspect Sims is not fully fit yet.
-
Get in! 2-1
-
What was everyone saying about Taylor...
-
Good finish by Taylor.
-
Bloody Taylor
-
Great finish & plenty of time left
-
Credit to JT he has been absolutely shocking but he showed good composure there
-
:scarf:
-
Best ball all day in final third there all day from Ipswich tackle
-
Taylor's a great finisher.
-
We are trying to play people in but often over hitting the pass.
We should get another couple of chances and need to take one of them.
-
Not sure who is worst. Bogle or Fej.
-
Not sure who is worst. Bogle or Fej.
Stop bloody whining.....
-
Copps on
-
Golden boots and Lokilo coming on.
-
Point today would be decent assuming other results don't change.
-
Taylor Richards has been as poor as anyone today.
-
Don’t know why it’s took this long for copps to come on should’ve been on 20 mins ago at least
-
I’m listening to Mick Mills, a co commentator, he’s an Ipswich supporter but his comments are very good and observant.
Cops is on for our next free kick!
-
about 5 minutes
-
Not sure who is worst. Bogle or Fej.
Stop bloody whining.....
If we had anything up front we would be winning this game easily.
-
Needs to get it into the box, get a pen! If Peterbrough can do it late in a game.....
-
It is the worst strike force we have had for years. Now Ben has gone and his goals have too we have been found out
-
Totally bereft of ideas around the box.
-
Are our lads aware that a football match has limited time, and doesn’t just go on until you score?
-
Needs to get it into the box, get a pen! If Peterbrough can do it late in a game.....
Problem is 1. We struggle to get in the box and 2. We are to nice
-
We're a mid table team at best!
-
Mick Mills is right. The stats show that Donny have dominated the match, but have lost. This is not good enough for promotion.
-
Time added on, and we tap around the back line like we’re winning FFS!
-
Pathetic that. Completely pathetic.
Didn't look like they were trying to win.
-
Lots of possession but bereft of creativity up front. Disappointing yet again. On paper this team is capable of much more but just not delivering.
-
That was really poor. Too many players had a poor game. Bostock easy man of the match. It’s like we played without forwards
-
1 from 15 is awful. Let’s hope this slump is done and we can get back to it on Tuesday.
-
Much more urgency needed.
-

The creativity was there. We had a few good balls into dangerous areas but no one was willing to get in those areas or put their foot out.
-
Are our lads aware that a football match has limited time, and doesn’t just go on until you score?
this!!!!!!! The amount of time we wasted ourselves just needlessly passing it around the back!!!!!!
-
Poor finishing has cost us today and a lack of urgency when we went behind
On to Tuesday

Cops is on for our next free kick!
You do know who mick mills is?
-
74% posession and how many times did the goalkeeper have to do anything?
-
This collapse is reminiscent of the Ferguson one.
Hope we can stop the rot.
-
Ipswich defended very deep and let us have the ball. We huffed and puffed but were very pedestrian.
We did have chances though. But firing blanks up front. Expected more from Bogle. Richards running into crowds.
Not all doom and gloom tho. Bostock was good.
-

Really no need.
Oh, and ellipsis is just three dots.

The very same thought crossed my mind
-
To be fair, we've been utterly dominant and didn't do a lot wrong. The first goal was from a free-kick that never was. Just not getting the rub of the green at all at present but we need to start putting these chances away or it will all unravel.
Bostock gets better every game but Richards and Smith were not at the races today.
-
We were dominant because they let us have the ball, we were still fannying around with it in injury time in our own area. Unreal
-
Far too easy to play against at the minute.

Frustrating. Losing patience with this pedestrian style a bit.
My thoughts too, teams just let us have the ball, wait for the inevitable mistake, or conceding a needless free kick & the jobs a good 'un.
-

Smith needs to influence the play further up the pitch in my opinion, he's far less effective playing the defensive role, for Tuesday I would drop Richards, who is more of an individual player, push Smith up there linking up with the forwards better, with Bostock & Robertson behind him.
-
Give Coppinger a game
