Brilliant; I was expecting Barcelona to get it again.
Well done to the TDF people too for recognising this is a big growth area.

Agreed - Barcelona or "Italy" somewhere but apparantly the Yorkshire delegation + that well knows L***s United fan Mark Cavendish did a reet number on the TDF throughout

Full credit to them all and I look forward to seeing the Haute Category climb of Sutton Bank lol

I didn't know he supported them :( I'm looking forward to this, I love cycling and I've always wanted to see the world's most famous bike race.

Now and again they show a photo of him after he won a Race in the Isle of Man and there he was in the Leeds shirt with the badge that always reminded me of a w***y

If you watch Look North tomight you will see he has a large Yorkshire family

Still a great bloke whatever - and it will be good to see him get the Green Jersey next year and Frome or Wiggins the Yellow

Aye, that he is. I reckon with him going to another team (completely slipped my mind where he's going) he'll be nailed on for Green, he'll want it more than ever after last year.

It'll do the region good too :p

He's joined Omega Pharma-Quickstep, a good team who should be able to help him reclaim the Maillot Vert in 2013.

I can't wait for Le Tour to come here, always wanted to soak in a stage or two and now that it's going to be on our doorstep there is no excuse not to go!

I reckon going up Elm Green Lane in Cunny will sort out a few of these so-called climbers.

If we showcase Yorkshire properly we would need 2 Stages of about 300 miles each !

The icing on the cake would be for them to come through Doncaster in recognition of Tommy Simpson.
Shame it's a year early, as it will be 50 years in 2015 when he became our first World Champion on the road race.
