If mum is going to do it, go to
www.moneysavingexpert.com
and look at the 0% credit card deals around at the moment - apply quickly to catch the early bird offer if poss.....then you can spread the cost - but make sure you pay it off a few weeks before the end of the interest free period to avoid any nasty charges.

Worth noting that you need a credit card which has 0% on purchases rather than a 0% balance transfer card.
