This is going down to the wire
« on April 13, 2013, 05:06:25 pm by DRFC_DonnyRed50 »
sorry chaps, it looks like promotion will have to wait till the Brentford game. I can't see Brentford losing or drawing both of their next two games. So we're all just going to stand/sit there at Griffin Park and do some nail biting for the 90 minutes

Hate to say it but a Blades win might suit us best. Brentford are more of a threat as the points stand at the moment.

I think we`ll need to win both our games to go up as champions, I can`t see Bournemouth slipping up in their remaining games

I have been trying to work it out as i'm sure many others are. Please correct me if i'm wrong:

Let's presume Bournemouth win next saturday as do we and also if brentford beat blades and win next saturday, the table going into the final day will be:
1. Rovers 84
2. Brentford 83
3. Bournemouth 82

If bournemouth win at tranmere and we lose it's playoffs!

Or assuming Blades beat brentford and win their games in hand last day could be:
1. Rovers 84
2. Bournemouth & Blades on 82
4. Brentford could be on 80 so we could lose last game but other results could still see us up - or we could be in the play offs

Anyone know how many brentford tickets are left?

Blades win or draw is best for us.

Not sure about a Blades win, if they win the other game in hand they'll be right on our tail.

It's become so congested at the top, I don't like to think what might happen if we were to slip up!

I'm hoping the others will return to their losing ways next Satdi.

Lets just hope we can win both our games. A Sheff u win or draw will do me on Tue as i don't see Sheff u beating Pompy.

Well Brentford did today. And Sheffield United may be a different proposition with the new manager.

Have said for some time we need 87 pts to be sure.
Bournemouth will win their last two games 85 pts.
Sheff Utd if they win all their games 85pts but must improve their goal difference.
Brentford will have to lose against Sheff Utd and us for both teams to achieve the totals and that will put them out of the equation.
If Sheff u and Brentford draw then all we need is a win and draw to go up.

From the BBC Website:

"Billy Paynter's quickfire double moved League One leaders Doncaster within touching distance of an instant return to the Championship after a 2-1 comeback win at Crewe. A home victory against Notts County next Saturday will do the trick for Brian Flynn's men. Second-placed Bournemouth clinched their play-off spot with a 3-0 success at Shrewsbury."

Is that correct?

Basically we can go up on Saturday but the following must happen first.
We must win
Brentford must drop 3 pts before sat night
Sheffield utd must drop 2 points before Sat night
And Yeovil need to drop 1 point sat night.

If this happens we go up and if Bournemouth lose on Saturday we are champions. As long as all the above happen.

And breath.

Reading that I kind of want Sheff U to win on Tuesday, that kills Brentford off.  Sheff U away at Pompey next week is a tough game for them and a draw wouldnt surprise me.

Just need to keep doing our bit

First we must do the hardest and important thing, that is to win at home next Saturday. Then take it from there.

Aye - all the above is a long shot, and I don't really see it all happening
A little bit of good news is that Yeovil can only get 83 points as it stands now, so they don't need to drop a point
