3-5-2 just doesn't work for us defensively. It's too difficult to play when you don't keep possession like Barca.
-
Everyone in Doncaster knows that apart from Fergie
-
Amen. I have been saying this for months. He just doesn't learn though.
By playing that formation he is expecting players to do more than one thing. CBs to get pulled out wide and full backs to also play as wingers. Players at this level cannot do two things at once.
Why doesn't he ever learn?
-
Didn't he show powerpoint presentations to new signings on exactly how we were gonna play? If so i wouldn't expect it to change anytime soon
-
Before we worry about formations we need to stop making fundamental individual errors.
-
Maybe we should play RBs (Lund) in the right back position and wingers (Blair and Calder) actually on the wing...
Blair best player on the pitch today but its a shame he had to defend as well rather than concentrate on attacking
-
Blair was useless in the first half. Marquis MOTM for me.
-
Blair was quiet first half because Coppinger wouldn't give him the ball on several occasions, insisting on turning the other way & either misplacing his pass or being caught in possession.
-
Possibly the worst I've ever seen coppinger play
Impressed with Blair, marquis, mason,
-
Bright spots: Rowe, Marquis and Blair (to a lesser extent) looked decent.
Negative spots: Copps was f**king dreadful today and was subbed about 40 mins too late, Etheridge was f**king dreadful, however he wasn't the worst keeper on the pitch by a long way. Accringtons keeper is the single worst professional keeper I've seen and I've seen Weavers fat neighbour. Any competent L2 side would have peppered his goal and come away with at least six goals.
Fergie, once again you persist with 3-5-2 and sign young Premier league midfielders when we're crying out for experienced defenders, have you learnt f**king nowt from last season? You know that it felt like today? The f**king capitulation at Crewe last season. The same lack of motivation among the players and no f**king leaders to grab the Kitsons by the scruff of the neck.
However a special mention has to be made of today's official's who were f**king inept in the extreme. If this is the standard of reffing in L2 were in for a bumpy ride, if I was in a Sunday league side I'd feel aggrieved if I was reffed by that useless, myopic, waste of skin.
Buckle up kids, L2 is gonna be a f**king roller coaster.

The times Copps didn't pass to him he was isolated out wide. He would have just been playing him into trouble.

Sounds like Mr Stockbridge was on top form. I did fear the worst when I saw that galah had been appointed. Should have been dropped last season.
-
Linesman was worse, how he gave that ball out for a goal kick is extraordinary it wasn't even close to crossing the line
-
Apparently, he was saying "goal kick" over and over before then flagging for the corner. Christ knows what happened, just something I heard from a lad that had come back from the toilets just before it was taken.

If you heard an exasperated Rovers fan shout "all the ball over all the f**king line, lino" that was me.
-
Coppinger, i am trying hard to think the last time, he did play well. If he doesn't perform, then he shouldn't be above being dropped, as it is at the minute, his experience is needed.

Disagree, there were at least 2 occasions when Blair was the option, but Coppinger came back inside instead of giving him the ball & supporting him, consequently he either lost the ball or gave it away.
