Bury need volunteers
« on August 25, 2019, 03:04:19 pm by DonnyOsmond »
https://twitter.com/buryfcofficial/status/1165297393052585985?s=19

I put it on the main match thread but just putting it here too.

They're hoping to get the stadium ready to play our game and are looking for volunteers to help tidy, etc. If anyone can lend a hand...

Firstly, would be brilliant to see the club back on their feet and after that from a selfish point of view probably the best time to play them and it also means we don't end up with a fixture pile up after Bolton being rearranged.

It would be some great PR if a group of Rovers fans went and helped get it ready.

Don’t want to piss on anyone’s chips, but if the paperwork doesn’t get done on Tuesday then this is a waste of time, maybe they should start Wednesday when they know for sure the game is on

Possibly 2 of us interested in helping. We were going if the game was on anyway.

You would hope that a lot of those singing and dancing outside Gigg Lane the other night will already have volunteered.

Bury fans are trying to get fans of other local big teams that are either away or not playing to come down for their first match back.

So could be a cracking atmosphere could mean a bit more, I sure Darren will have the players well up for it, just gonna be very difficult with no previous matches to scout

They're jumping the gun a bit here. There's no guarantee that the takeover will actually get over the line before 5pm tomorrow.

If enough volunteers Rovers + fans should tell them to forget the away end, we will sort that.

Volunteers leave a bit earlier on the Saturday and sort it out. After all some people had to clean their own seats in the Keepmoat.

Proof on funds have been seen but the buyers wanted some time to scrutinise the books before going ahead with the sale.

I was forgetting that today is a Bank Holiday so I suspect the Tuesday 5pm deadline will be extended for both Bury and Bolton due to deals being 'so close'

Burexit and Bolexit??

The banks don't need to be open to be able to see evidence of funds.

This dare I say it is where problems turn up. The mad rush and huge external pressure to get a deal - any deal done - means that inevitably it is going to risk being out of frying pan etc. These guys seeking to buy Bury have absolutely no experience of owning a club. Granted one of them has been in football administration to an extent, but this is a complete punt even given the goodwill.

Bolton bumped into Ken Anderson when basically nobody else wanted them, look how that ended. Bolton's takeover has collapsed by the way...
