£30 at Barnsley and £31 at Ipswich.  It's getting silly to be honest, but they won't listen unless fans do something about it.

The problem is enough people will pay it and nothing will change.
I was planning on going, but I'm not bothering now.

A Dortmund Schalke type boycott would one way for clubs to take notice.

The only away game of this season that we would have taken a really decent following, and now I doubt we'll take 1000.

Only 1,854 turned up last season at £23 a throw with Championship safety still not mathematically secure.

An away game with travel/beer/food thrown in is just an expensive day out, its not going to change in the near future.

Yep, that's about 6 in our party that will not be going at those prices.

VSC can we take this up with JR please.......maybe one of those agreed 'we charge the same as you games ie 15-20 sheets'. Both teams are struggling for fans and both have similar economic climates.

Absolutely horrendous pricing for 2 local similar Sth Yorks clubs

I wonder how many would pay the price if we were sitting pretty near the top of the league. Food for thought.

So if it was £27 would you go?

Barnsley will be the cheapest away day when you take into consideration travel.

We'd have no fans in the premiership if we ever went up once the 92 tick off each stadium brigade have been to each ground.

Of course more would, but that's like saying would you pay more for a holiday in Florida or more for a holiday in Scarborough?

It's all relative
Who remembers us refusing to pay £7 at Leigh RMI becauase it was a rip off at the time. We made a stand and they let us in for a fiver.
Until fans stop paying these ridiculous prices they'll keep on going up.

Bet you won't refuse to pay £32 and travel expenses when it comes to West Ham away, because its a new ground.

I'm only willing to pay because I'm not going to any away games apart from Barnsley between now and Christmas, and even then it's only because it's a local derby which I always love. Ridiculous, it really is.

Not for me I don't expect, I won't pay that, there's a line and that's accross it.

I'm unsure on Ipswich I may go but I'm still unsure.  I think if I do I'm contemplating starting a protest at the ticket prices.

It simply comes down to cost for me. I have decided to draw the line at about £25. I wont be going to Ipswich, Barnsley, West Ham etc. If I didnt have a season ticket I wouldnt be going to all the home games.

Maybe my priority has changed, but the costs are driving me away from football more and more.

blame the clubs paying the stupid wages to players across the football league. I know people in the Conference north getting paid 25 grand a year to train a few times a week and one or two games a week.

30 pounds to go to Barnsley is an absolute joke. Today I bought a ticket to watch Newcastle vs Everton in the Premier League for the exact same price. If you're telling me that those two matches will posit equal value to each other then I will have to point you in the direction of the nearest mental institution.

Looking at their prices on their site, 16 of the 23 home games are £30.

Last season I decided, partly on economic grounds, that I would not go to anymore away games. This season's quoted prices at some grounds reinforce that decision.
Fans should make a stand. Footballers are paid far too much. In the past they have used the reasoning that they have a short career. Well wake up and smell the coffee! Many fans have discovered that they also have short careers and certainly the concept of a job for life is being slowly consigned to history.
I made my decision based on the fact that it would not hurt my club financially although I accept the team might find it difficult to play away with absolutely no support if everyone followed my lead.
Faced with a choice to whom would you rather give your money.

Spot on weststander, fans should make a stand.

I don't know if the appetite is there amongst the wider membership, but is there a place for the VSC to engage with its members on advocating a proper boycott? And if not for this game, then certainly the £36 Leeds game.

Barnsley took a leaf out of our book (and a bad one at that) to charge £30 and to encourage home fans to buy season tickets or pay a 'membership fee' to avoid paying top whack. Once again a cynical attempt to fleece away fans.

However, Barnsley had the good grace to advertise ALL price options at the same time so I would guess the vast majority of their fans are either ST holders or members.
