Signs on a two year deal
-
Oh I wasn’t expecting that
-
Good news - I think he improved the more games he played and should be a good addition.
-
Good start certainly made us stronger at set pieces
-
Decent signing. Still could do with one more at the back. Maybe that young lad we had on trial? Add that to Wright, Butler, Anderson, Blaney, Amos, Mason and McCullough we should have enough able to play at the center.
-
Thought the 1st thing DF was going to do was offer Copps a new contract, does that mean he's not signed😈😁
Excellent news that Tom has signed
-
He cost us 3 points at Rotherham - by getting injured. That's how good he can be. Good signing.
-
Happy with that
-
He’s a good age and played 100+ first team games. Him and Wright could be a very good partnership going forward.
-
Miss the one a day we used to do, Copps next?
-
Well happy with this signing, definitely a player to improve us. A Rob Jones type of player who knows how to play and he's not afraid to put his head in. Plus he can score too 😀
-
Very good signing to start things off. Fitted in well and definitely adds something to the team. Happy with this.
-
Good start and 1 of the 4 Signings we need.
-
Really happy with that. At least 2 more new pieces of the jigsaw to come.

Rob Jones is how I’d describe his style too. Probably lacking the leadership but Jones did have about 12 years on him.
Disappointing to lose Baudry’s class but for me I just want our centre backs to keep the ball away from the goal. Couldn’t care less where it ends up as long as it’s not in the back of the net! Head it and kick it clear. Anderson does just that.
Rotherham away was a perfect example. He stays on the pitch we win that game.
-
He could have at least ironed the shirt he's wearing in the announcement pic.
-
How he looks is clearly not his top priority. Ha ha. That's to our advantage!
-
Oh I wasn’t expecting that
so why was you not expecting that, swing as DF ages ago he wanted him, and he was free
-
Good signing for me, his performance at Rotherham typified the type of player he can be, plus he's been steady since his first couple of games and proved his goal threat at set pieces too.
A more than solid start to the summer and evidence enough that we aren't sitting around and waiting to get going in the market.
-
Delighted. A sign Ferguson has learnt something this season.
-
This is pleasing - adding something that was needed and playing him where he can actually play. This is a good start indeed.
-
Good start and 1 of the 4 Signings we need.
We need more than 4 Alan, not sure if we will get it though
-
Would add a midfielder who can bring some real bite and urgency, another genuine striker (rather than winger playing as striker) and given deputies to Andrew (Amos - looks good but very young) and Mason (Blair - not a full back) we have to think carefully about how we support Andrew and Mason.
-
Butler, Anderson, Wright and McCullough is pretty strong group for centre backs.
-
McCullough as a deputy only and, for me, he wouldn’t be first choice def mid, either. The next massive signing is who is going to partner JM, this coming season. After that, 2 wide midfielders (one right, one left) and then we can add maybe a couple of loanees into the mix.
I agree with you, Johnny, but it depends on the budget and how far it will stretch!

I think you've missed the sarcasm in that one Dave😉
-
Well, bearing in mind Kiwomya is right side as well as Blair, if you gave me Oztumer and a proven striker alongside Marquis, I'll be straight down to the bookies to lump on.
-
Midfield weak spot for me. Only dedicated midfielders who can play 90mins are Rowe and Whiteman. Neither has shown ability to consistently dominate games at this level. Copps is going to be 60mins player and Houghton we just do not know and our mate Rodney has gone. We need a commanding centre midfielder who can drive the midfield. We all know this is not going to be McCullough. Otherwise we look lightweight and one dimensional in centre midfield.
-
Good signing is that. I'd say we need another at the back to replace Baudry though.
-
very happy, think this lad can be a good un.

Did you not see Rowe at the end of the season we got relegated, he’s got the ability to do that.

I have said for a long time we should get Oztumer a known player by Fergy and would be a key player for Donny.
-
Good signing just a shame it's his turn next to play fullback.
-
Good start certainly made us stronger at set pieces
Attacking and defending.
-
Well done, Fergie, and well done the board. If we maintain this level of signings over the next few weeks, we'll be fine.
-
Great signing!! Let’s hope he develops into the new corporal
-
With this level of appreciation on the forum for Tom's signing, I wonder how certain posters now feel, the ones that slagged him off when he first came, without giving him a chance. I would imagine they'll pick up on the first mistake he makes, then come back on here criticising again.
-
At least we know what we’re getting in advance and it is a positive step of intent . I similar type of forward to partner Marquis would cap it for me .
-
How do we know he will be a great signing spent most of his load period at the club injured and some people think that he scored two goals in one game he's the next John terry
-
God I bet you're fun at birthday parties. What's the point in celebrating getting closer to death, eh?!
-
Elmsall normally I would take your point with this, after all the main reason we struggled was the amount of talent that was normally sat in the stands with us injured..
However Anderson was different,He was unlucky enough to get injured doing what he should have been doing and that others don't do enough off..Sticking his head where it hurts for the cause..Something he has proved he will do on a few occasions..We saw more than enouth when he was playing to tell us he is just what we are looking for...

Very good signing. Will he be 1st choice though? Butler and Wright? We will have to see.

3 at the back?
-
Talking of Wright we need to get him signed for next season or he can start talking to other clubs in January.
We don't want to let grass grow under our feet, like we did with Greeny, or we will lose the chance of a transfer fee, or more importantly a very good player.
Lets be proactive for once.

Healthy competition. At least we now have two dominant centre half's with Wright as a third who's still developing.
I've certainly see enough of Anderson to know he's very effective. Keeps it simple and attacks the ball at the right times. Clears it when it needs to be.

No we won't. I agree he needs tying down long term but we're guaranteed a fee as long as we offer equal or better terms if he buggers off.

Apart from the fact that you obviously weren't at the New York Stadium, do you actually know anything about football?
