Title: Pillocks v Ostriches
Post by: Bentley Bullet on November 15, 2018, 11:47:49 am
Following a previous poll last September in which the Ostriches gained 62% of the vote against a 38% cast from the Pillocks, what is YOUR opinion now?

Do you fancy having a go at writing the question for the next EU Referendum. LOL

so much in this league depends on getting good loanees (Herbie Kane - Wilks {he has something on his mind at the moment}) or to put it properly not getting poor loanees
Shrewsbury had a good job lot last season so it shows it can be done --
Fergie failed miserably in not getting any Man U loanees (anyone remember who his dad managed ?- guessing got more loanees from City than United)

oh and i forget to mention the obvious "the gap between this division and the one above gets bigger every year "

I'm an other.

I refuse to allow football to affect my emotions to a degree that is a danger to my mental well-being.

In my time as a Rovers supporter I've seen us relegated out of the football league, nearly go out of existence, not bounce straight back up, and it not be that season four times. However, I've also seen us promoted four times, have a great League cup run and play some pretty amazing football at times, all of which is unequalled by most clubs outside of Football Manager. And that's just on the pitch.

Off the pitch we've had equally scalable ups and downs.

Don't misunderstand, I am not apathetic to the plight of the club, I still hurt when we lose and feel like a world beater when we win. But when I look at other teams and their recent history, I am grateful for the highs we've had (during my relatively short time supporting) and also for the lows that have made the highs taste all the better, and know that I can't complain that I have a league one team to support, even if it is mid-table.

I'm a pillock.

9,146 posts on this forum and finally you post something that we can all agree on!  ;)

P.S. I'm also a pillock, because I voted pillock when I'm more of an ostrich/other  :ermm:

I’m in totally agreement with DRNaith apart from I’ve seen us promoted 6 times.
It has to be one of the best posts ever written on here

I’ve seen us promoted 6 times.

Hardly an advert for becoming an established Championship club!

I remember well when we were relegated from the old second division in the late 50s when I was in my teens. I thought it was the end of the world, but now I make the best of the good times when they come around . All part of being a Rover .

We all make the best of the good times. It's the bad times that cause us concern.
