Rosso Main

Anyone not watching the Rovers today get down to Rosso for their play-off semi final against Wakefield AFC.

£5 for adults, £3 for concessions.

Rosso finished 3rd. 2nd lost to 5th yesterday, so Rossington should be favourites for promotion now.

It just goes to show how the play offs, at any level, are a lottery. Staveley Miners Welfare finished in the final play off spot, but can't be promoted for 2 seasons after taking voluntary relegation. Horbury replaced them, and beat 2nd place Harrogate Railway, despite  finished a whopping 26 points behind them in the league.
As a result I am definatley routing for Rossington. This means I'll have to go watch Rovers on Saturday instead of the final, which is a blow!!

Me too! Although after going 26 games unbeaten, a run ended by Rossington, Rail rather limped to the end of the season. They were closing down Campions lead at the top, but injuries, including 3 key players with ACL's, and playing Saturday/ Tuesday/ Saturday caught up with them.

By all accounts the game hinged on two key moments. Horbury scored from a free kick that struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced down, over the line.
Rail had a penalty that also struck the underside of the crossbar but bounced down on the line, hit the post and up into the keepers hands. I also think that some of Rails starting 11 werent fully fit. Hopefully they can keep the manager and the majority of their players and go again next season.

Will be going to watch Donny, but will keep an eye on the score though. Up the Main!

We were at that game too, seem to recall ex Rovers youngster Brad Grayson scored the only goal of the game?
