GRANT
Are you serious?
The one and only thing Grant isn't good at is tackling so the holding role is totally NOT FOR HIM.

Houghton wasn't the best tackler in the world
It's about keeping the play flowing and finding a player in space

Leave Middleton there for a few matches, and see how he progresses.Houghton was poor at Accrington and got better after a few games.
The Plymouth fans thought nothing to Houghton, saying he was weak and easily knocked off the ball,so has got better with experience to our benefit.
It makes me wonder if the problem with Middleton and the knockers is because he has come though the ranks at the Rovers.
I think he can be a great asset to this club, but he will not be watching other clubs players getting experience at his expense.

Houghton is excellent at tackling and breaking up the play, I don't know how you can say otherwise.
We will miss him.

I'd give Middleton a few more games. If it still isn't working I'd move Mason there or bring Keegan in.

So lets try a ball playing centre half in Houghtons position if the team is set up as per Liam Holden. Specialist in that position, discuss!

INteresting, will it be a 5 at back or baudry holding?

Probably change formations depending on how the game is going??  Blair, Alcock, Baudry at least can change positions..

Now Mason starting as holding midfield, has played in midfield before but still hardly a specialist. Hope he does well and the boys come back with 3 points

You mean we shouldn't consider randomly shoving a winger there for no apparent reason?
If that one is aimed at me it missed by a mile! I gave my reasons, what alternative did you come up with?

It's aimed at anyone that genuinely believes that Blair or McSheffrey could or should ever actually play there.
