Unbelievable stat
« on March 04, 2012, 06:28:48 pm by dickos1 »
In the games diouf has been involved in we have scored 11 goals, diouf has either scored or made the assist on everyone of those goals bar one.
Yet people come on here and moan about the guy, there is no player in our history that has been as important as he is to us at the minute, players dive and fall out with each other, so what? It happened before he arrived and it'll happen when he's gone.
Just get behind him and acknowledge how good he is

Lies, damned lies and statistics. Something like that anyway.

How many times have we won with him in the team?

One player doesnt make a team

We do imo need a goalscorer though

because i just dont think that Bagayoko is a goalscorer

unless Bamogo turns out to be any good

when is he back from injury anyway

Lies, damned lies and statistics?? It's a fact.
You might not like it but it's a fact,
If your trying to imply we're better without him then you need help.

I'm questioning how you get from your stat to Diouf being the most important player in our history.

Fire away, brah.

dickos1 i think its fair to say we an all see he is a class act,but surely you can see he throws his self to the floor at even imaginary touches, then when he does draw a foul it isnt given.
imo he tries too hard to do it all on his own, when a simple pass is there, would i have him in the side? too right i would.
just seems to me though that you cant/wont see the annoying side to his game

At the moment he is contributing to 90% of all our goals, if you can show me somebody who can beat that you will have a point.

Of course I get annoyed when he dives and waves his arms about at his tea mates. But it's nothing new, sharp used to moan regularly, stock n wellens fell out every week.

Errm you can't win without scoring goals. So scoring goals is obviously more important.  Dick

Apologies, during his 13 appearances (of which I believe we have won once) he has clearly become the most important player in our history over the likes of Snodin, Coppinger, Green, Sharp, Barnes, Kitchen etc.

If you read my post it says at the minute, if a player is single handedly scoring or creating all our goals then at this moment in time with relegation in the pipeline he is more important.. I'm not saying he will go down as one of our greats but right now the way he's playing we've never had anyone so vital.

In other words a decent player has come into a dogshit team which, other than Sharp, wasn't scoring. Thanks for the revelation.

We've had spells in the past that's been mentioned on here, where we've had a better record without sharp, the same stat has been brought on here about stock, coppinger, it's a nonsense stat.
Because I'm sure you'll agree we're better with those in the side.

Well here's to hoping that he (or anybody!) gets the goals and puts in the performances that will keep us up! My confidence has evaporated, however.

It's a massive month, we've been very unlucky in recent games, maybe we'll get a bit.

I echo those sentiments Chris but cant help but feel its time we got a bit of luck and went on a little run where we win a few games. There is not a great deal between the majority of teams in this league and its quite possible we could get a few points from the games this month which could take us away from the relegation spots and who knows how the team could react from there.  Heres hoping!

On the Diouf stat.  The fact he takes most of the corners, free kicks, penalties etc.. could be a reason why he scores so highly. Having said that, he is massively important to our side in an attacking sense at the moment having lost Sharp, and we should recognise this and support him best we can.

It certainly is a massive month. I can't quite believe that we have another 8 games remaining this month!

The Forest game is massive in my opinion. I'd be much more confident about upsetting the odds against West Ham, Reading, Southampton etc if we could build up even a very small bit of form. Forest is a winnable game but I fear that if we don't win it we may find it extremely hard to break our win-less run against the very good teams which we face this month.

I see the babbying shows no signs of abating. When the balloon goes up and we have to resort to trench warfare, there's some on here I'd like at my side, and some who would mince about moaning how shit everything is.

I have a list. Some of you will be invited to be brave partisans. Some will be summarily executed, embalmed and used as toys to satisfy the men's carnal urges. You know who you are.

Back to the relegation scrap. Those of you chucking your hands up and saying how dreadful everything is, take a look at the table and look at the form.

I cannot see Pompey pulling themselves round. Bristol City are imploding (1 point and 17 goals conceded in the last 6 games). Coventry have been averaging well under a point a game for 5 months.

Given the dreadful form of the bottom 4, I can well see that something as low as 40-42 points might achieve safety this year.

So, we have a target to aim at. We are actually not playing bad football. It  would not have been ridiculous for us to have picked up 7 points from the last 3 games and be out of the bottom 3. It's THAT close. Forest have shown that a couple of wins (after the worst run of any side this year - 5 points from the previous 39) can take you clear out of the bottom 3.

So, for fcuk's sake, stop this whining. We're in a genuine relegation scrap. We're not down and out. We have everything to play for. This is where you earn your spurs as a fan. Any flabby arsed tosspot can support a side that is over performing, and fcuk knows we've picked some up over the last decade. Well, here's the other side of football. The side where you hold onto your knackers, pray for a bit if luck, and shout your fcuking lungs out  to support the side.

Support. No ifs, no buts.

If it goes tits up, you can have your mardy little hissy fits in May. Until then, it's support. Total and utter. No moans, no prissy little \"I told you Saunders was no good\"s. No histrionics.

Support.

Otherwise, take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what supporting a club means to you.
