Title: Marko Marosi
Post by: The Red Baron on October 10, 2014, 07:03:49 pm
He didn't get a game tonight for Slovakia Under-21s- in fact, he wasn't even on the bench for them.

They draw 1-1 with Italy. The second leg of their play-off is in Italy on Tuesday night.

The Furman-meister (can we call him that now?) plays for South Africa in the Congo later today.

No news on the NI team to play the Faroes later today but I'm guessing Luke McCullough will start on the bench.

Judging by where he's been playing today, lets hope he doesn't come back with Ebola !!

Luke McCullough came on in the second half of Northern Ireland's 2-0 victory over the Faroe Islands.

I doubt it. In terms of distance, it's like someone going to Donny and worrying about getting shot by Putin's forces in Ukraine. Congo is about 1500miles from where the Ebola outbreak is.

Billy, bit of info if you wish to change your travel plans;

As of October 5, 2014, there have been 70 cases of Ebola virus disease reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In total, 43 deaths have been reported. This outbreak is unrelated to the current outbreak of Ebola in West Africa.

unless he licks someone who is bleeding from the eyes he should be fine.  But you never know what these footballers get up to.

No action for either Marosi or McCullough last night, though the latter was an unused sub in the excellent win for Northern Ireland in Greece.

The Slovakians are out of the Under-21 competition which means it is unlikely they will have a game next month. So the prospects of the Sheffield United game being on are improved. Unfortunately we will probably have to play it without two key players.

Furman played the full game for South Africa last night- they drew 0-0 with Congo. A win would have sent them through to the ACON finals, so they need to win one of their final two games (v Sudan and Nigeria) to be certain.

As he's not likely to be back in the before late today I dare say he's unlikely to be involved at Fleetwood.

Sudan's a winnable game so expect to be without Furman for most of January. Morocco have backed out hosting it today due to ebola, could it even be cancelled due to it?

South Africa will stage it instead. They have done twice previously at short notice when there's been problems elsewhere.
