Darren Moore for me please👍
-
Good choice, considering he was appointed West Bromwich Albion manager only a couple of weeks ago.
-
Ok 🤔 thought that was just till the end of the season!! Gutted 😣
-
Whoever it is, it's going to take 3 weeks to get him in!!
3 weeks.
-
That's not what they said though is it. They intend to have him in place before pre-season begins, that isn't the same as "it's going to take us three weeks".
-
I wonder if Steve Beaglehole would consider a return. It seems his success with youth players would be ideal for our board's emphasis on youth.

Seriously?

Doncaster Rovers intend to have a new manager in place inside the next three weeks, the club has confirmed.
Rovers hope to appoint Darren Ferguson’s successor before the squad returns to Cantley Park for pre-season training on Monday, June 25.
Applications for the managerial vacancy will be accepted up until next Monday with the interview process due to begin shortly after.
This what is written and what the Club have put out for their 'timetable' to select the next manager.
First of all note it says 'within' 3 weeks, but in the same sentence it says 'intends'.
The next thing is that they 'hope' to have a new manager in place by the time pre-season starts.
There are no definates in there. Then the new man has to make some quick assessments on the squad, strength and capabilities and then, hopefully, come up with some players we are going to need to achieve the Club's stated aim of top 6 - this coming season! Or, does the Club, in their infinite wisdom, believe our current squad is good enough?

Would imagine any manager that wants to manage us will have already researched our players so will know there strengths and weaknesses also some managers will always try to sign players he knows or clubs he is on good terms with

Absolutely, it will be part of the interview process.

Any manager worth his salt will constantly be monitoring players and watching games whether currently in a job or not. They will also have contacts in the game mentioning or recommending players. That is before you get agents touting players or players in your team recommending former team mates and opponents.
