Is that the covid deal?

If it is theres a massive difference in payments between the clubs Rovers £1.3m, Sunderland £16.9m

It is not. It is the ‘standard’ payment and the Sunderland figure is so high due to the parachute payment, presumably their last.

It also shows the benefit of promotion. In League One there is a uniform payment of 675k vs 4.5m for Championship clubs (unless parachute payment). So almost 4m free cash just for promotion to Championship. If you think our wage bill is circa 6m now, that 4m would be a major increase on promotion.

The additional Covid rescue package agreed in early December is set out on the BBC site;

Does this mean Preston or  QPR can get stuffed when it comes to buying Whiteman ?

no chance is it 120k a week?,  60 players on 2k a week?,  and that's more than the average league 1 wage...

Sorry, I confused the figures. The c.6m was our last wage bill in the Championship. Some years ago now and there will have been inflation, but that 4.5m basic payment would go a long way to covering our wages in the Championship.
