The lad has been diagnosed with a very nasty Bacterial condition that affects 1 in every 100,000 people it's called Guilliam-Barre and after listening to DF sounds like Alex has been lucky as he said it's a relatively mild form of the disease which is great news - he's looking at 2 months out rather than a season or even a career finisher. Really feel for the kid but at least he's undergoing treatment - fingers crossed in his rehab

As Fergie says-best news we could have had really. He's been very unlucky but the lads health is the most important thing.

If it is Guilliam-Barre than he will potentially never recover the poor lad. He can manage his symptoms but will potentially always have it or suffer with side effects from it.

Yes Guillim Barre is a potentially life changing, even life threatening disease.
I don't know how they can say he'll be OK in two months.

You have to feel for the lad but in reality he may never pull a first team shirt on. His recovery is what is important and we all wish him well whether or not his long term future us with us we will have to wait and see. Good luck in the treatment and fingers crossed.

I had never even heard of this in truth but a quick google tells you it isn't good..2 months sounds very very optimistic to be playing again reading about it..Personally I wouldn't have put any timeframe on it as there seems to be so many possible complications...Wish the lad well...

Jills mum has been paralysed with Gillum barrie and has been bed ridden for over 14 months now, hardly any ,movement from the neck to the feet, caused in general, when recovering from sickness , the anti bodies in the body fight the illness, but did not stop, have affected the nervous system, you can have it from a day to years

Markus Babbel the ex Liverpool player got it, it took him a year before he got back playing. I think he was older though let's not write him off he's a very young kid he will be as strong as an ox inside with all the football he plays. It will take time but he will play for us i have no doubt. It sounds an awful thing to get but better to know then he can have treatment and start recovering.
