Managed to wangle the afternoon off work so I’ve paid my tenner and will be watching this one on ifollow at home.
I wonder if and how DM will swap a few players around as I suspect he might, but he could surprise us with the same team which gave Ipswich a lesson on Tuesday.
What we can’t do is be complacent about this match, we mustn’t expect this to be easy.
-
This is when the ruthlessness should kick in. Treat Crewe with exactly the same respect and maintain that desire to beat your opponent. They stand in the way of what we want to achieve.
-
Today’s team
COYR
-
Good strong 11 and decent bench come on Rovers
-
Taylor Richards not even on the bench, is he injured
-
Hopefully it's just a slight injury that's just not getting risked due to us having the strength in depth and with number of games coming up.
-
Well, both James and John score in games they've both started and... They get 'rotated'. Going to use that term from now on as 'dropped' seems too harsh!
Carry on where we left off please!
-
Where's Danny Amos? Injured?

Enjoy the afternoon off IDM.
No way will we expect the game to be easy.
The lads will be just as focussed as they were on Tuesday.
Players can’t wait for the next game when the results are good and I expect another top performance from us today.
Crewe will make it hard for us but I think we will have too much firepower for them.
-
DM again showing that no one is guaranteed a place in the team.
Cam John had his best performance for us against Ipswich but is replaced by Reece James (who was left out last game after having a MoM performance in the previous match).
-
With so many game is such a short space of time, expect to see many changes over the next few games.
-
Great for DM to have good options. Crewe will be well up for this, I'm sure,, so got too carry on where left off at Ipswich.
-
Started well. Pressing from the front again.
Crewe are one of those I have a soft spot for. Always look to play the game the right way.
-
We can't get any luck with wingers this season can we? Taylor off injured, hope he isn't gone too long.
-
Lokilo on. Crewe so close to taking the lead but Anderson blocks one on the line that was straight at him.
-
Slow start...?
-
Bursik needs to get his act together
Hopefully we can soak up this pressure then push on
-
Open game, Crewe playing good football and should be one up, but for a goal line block by Anderson..
-
Lokilo on. Crewe so close to taking the lead but Anderson blocks one on the line that was straight at him.
Looked like an unintentional handball
-
Good save from Sims’ scuffed effort.. Rovers better now..
-
Good morning everyone, slow start by Rovers, hopefully we can come good and get a win and another 3 points.
-

Slow Mo looks like it hit his knee
-
I also thought it was blocked with his knee.
-
Looked offside that
-
Bursik should do better there.
-
1-0 down! :crying:
-
Might wake us up now
-
1-1
-
1-1.
-
1-1
-
Sims makes it look easy 1 -1
-
Sims
-
Fab goal by Sims
-
1-1, Sims! Yes! :woohoo:
-
Lovely feet from Sims
-
Told you this was an open game.!
-
Enter cheat code sims
Now get another Rovers
-
Just listening to iFollow commentary.
I remember how people used to slag off Mickey Walker for calling us Doncaster on the radio Sheffield commentary but this Paul Goodwin character is doing exactly the same thing and yet no one has said anything about it.
-
Seems to have settled a bit now could do with a goal before halftime
-
Sky Sports reporter, Brian Beard, very complimentary on the high quality of football played by teams.
-
Marquis and Wilks on scoresheet again today....

Paul Goodwin didn’t use to work for the club though like Walker did.

H.T. 1-1.

Agreed but he is one of the “home” commentators.
-
Hopefully Moore can get some instructions into the team at halftime and we can come out and get an early goal.
With teams above playing each other this is a chance to put the pressure on them
-
The football today good from both sides Crewe are as good as Ipswich if not better bring second half not sure who will win
-
Mallik scored for Hull again and Marquis scored for Pompey at Sunderland.

of the “home” commentators.
Love the way that Jeff Stelling nearly always refers to us “Doncaster Rovers.”
-
As the score is 1 1 but according to the half time statistics on ifollow neither side has had a clear cu chance.
Can someone explain how they define a clear cut chance .
-
The way the commentator refers to the back post as the back stick, makes my teeth itch!! Aarrgghh!!
-
Not too fussed about teams above us at this stage of the season, we just need to focus on maximising points every time we go on the pitch.
This game could go either way..

Agree hound, it is really annoying me. I’ve shouted at the telly twice!
-
Just got to be a little smarter in second half. Keep the basics and work from there.

Also the goal line clearance
-
Mines buffered that much at 1609 2nd half not kicked off yet
-
Just buffered for the 1st time during live play
-
Buffering now for me too
-
My I follow just stuck on fifty minutes.
-
Buffering for last few minutes!
-
Refresh guys! Seems to have happened to everyone, that.
If I'm up to date, its 54 minutes gone now.
-
Back on now, was just stuck for five minutes.
-
Need to take our chances.
-
Need to make use of this pressure come on Rovers let's take the chances
-
It’s a bit scrappy with the heavy rain not helping..
-
Super match, I’m enjoying the football.
I’d be very happy to win this one.
-
Mines buffered about 10 times!
Back to official site and start again
-
I’m getting annoyed with the gamesmanship from the Crewe players.
Kicking the ball away at free kicks then trying to get Brad sent off.
-
Rovers have had 8 corners now, more than most games.
-

Weak refereeing.
-
Fook
-
Free kick on the edge of the box, nervy moment...
-
f**ks sake
-
Camera work is better today.. giving a wider view of the game..
b*llocks..
-
Bursik seems to be a bit suspect to free kicks like that.
-
Copps coming on.
-
1-2 poor defending for the free kick and I dare say poor goalkeeping
-
Bursik seems to be a bit suspect to free kicks like that.
Bursik seems to be a bit suspect full stop if you ask me!
-
Shit
That's what you get for not taking your chances
Think bursik is shit if he's the future of England we will never win owt
-
The commentator said we “have a mountain to climb”..
At 1-2 down with 20 mins to go.. a mountain.?
-
Fejiri has to put that away.
-
Ferjiri missed two golden chances this half.
-
Bursik seems to be a bit suspect to free kicks like that.
Bursik seems to be a bit suspect full stop if you ask me! Agreed, we were spoilt last season, he is a mile from Dieng's quality.
-
Brings us all back down to earth. Quite right too. Have to earn a win and we've not done enough today. Need to get copps on to give us some guile and creativity
-
P'boro winning at Hull
-
Worth giving Jones a chance?
-
Can we grind one out here.....?
-
Worth giving Jones a chance?
I've only been able to see the Ipswich game in full so I can't really comment, but every game someone types 'Bursik should have done better there'. Would be interested to see what others think.
-
Worth giving Jones a chance?
Not yet, spoilt season with Dieng
-
Can we grind one out here.....?
We definitely can, I hope we will

As a lady on the TV used to say, "You are the weakest link!"
-
We’ve bought Copps on but started lumping it long. Brainless.
-
Classic league 1 this. We've played ok but since they scored we've been really poor and panicked.
Also shows the lack of depth with the injuries. Not much anyone can do on that.
-
It’s got really scrappy, even lacklustre. Possibly a bit of a reality check after the two excellent results last week.
-
Stolen points, looking at the stats you would say it was an easy Rovers win, the best stat says otherwise
-
Not helped with the ref falling for every fall that Crewe do
Didn’t take our chances when they came
-
The game isn’t over yet..
-
A minute plus stoppage
-
That was a definite penalty. The prick even held his face he was so ashamed.
-
Ref has been very gullible.
-
The chances produced should have been converted into goals. Not good enough today, Rovers have to make it pay on Tuesday.
-
Crap
-

Definitely. Soon as he knew he'd got away with it he got straight back up like Lazarus.
-
FT 1-2
-
A poor performance all round
-
Well, I used to have a soft spot for Crewe. Mo doubt they are a good side but second half the gamesmanship was a bit much. The referee was weak. But, we really didn’t deserve anything today. Far too wasteful.
-
A little unlucky today - a few half chances which go the other way on another day. Doncaster were the better side but not quite enough quality.
It just goes to show that any team can beat anyone else in this division..
-
That was a definite penalty. The prick even held his face he was so ashamed.
How does the ref miss that?!
-
Poor after their goal I thought.
But that ref was shite, clear penalty for me. Got me a telling off for language in front of the kids too.
-
Lot of unforced errors today even though we had lots of possession,
Not the end of the world though, we can get over this minor blip and start again....
They were well drilled and their passing was more accurate when it counted
-
More disappointed with how we played in last 20 minutes as just started lumping ball forward. Need to take chances as Wigan game proved
-
A poor performance all round
No, it wasn’t..
Lacking in places yes, but poor, no.. that word gets used far too much in my opinion.
For what it’s worth I believe we may have done better f John had started in place of James, but we will never know..
-
How the hell is Bursik the England U21 goalkeeper?
-

So tell me who had a good game today then?
-
No surprise to any long standing fan. We have long lost games that we were expected to win after good performances.
-
How the hell is Bursik the England U21 goalkeeper?
He isn't, he's 2nd/3rd choice.
I wasn't impressed with him at all today but it's the first time I'm saying that. We were spoiled by Dieng last season, and were never going to find someone else as good as him to come in in my opinion.

No doubt I will get slated but I would give Louis Jones a run of games.
-
Bursik has got away with having very little to do in other games or shots straight at him.
Tbh nobody covered themselves in glory today

So tell me who had a good game today then?
That’s a very subjective statement....
They all had good parts to their play and bad parts..
When it was working we looked camped in their half then that thing crept in...they scored against the run of play and took ahold of the game....not sure how they managed to wrestle it from us so emphatically but they did...
They looked composed and passed to feet, we looked harried and hurried, and over thought the passages of play...
I’ll blame the weather in so much as far too many passes went astray
-
Sims and Gomes were he stand out performers for me..
As for the GK, if DM wants to pick Jones then he’ll get my support, and so would Bursik.

I won't be slating you, because I understand why anyone might want to see Jones brought in.
I think we learned with Etheridge though that dropping a keeper every time he has a bad game can have a really detrimental effect on the player and then the goalkeeper situation becomes very difficult. For me, Bursik should keep his place unless he goes on a run of wretched displays.

It worked with Dieng last season who didn't start as No1 keeper.
