Just got back after a long drive back visiting family, so what a nice surprise that result was/is.

Also, great to see another clean sheet and Molyneux, at long last, has joined the party - a well done from me.

Now, can we do another one? Or is that tempting fate?

Believe Alan, believe!

One of the reasons for that are Lakin and Brown, I would say. And then add Olowu into the back line!

Seems that Lakin was the legs that were much needed.

Sign him up in the summer please.

Does Biggins get back in the team when fit?
Thought he was our best player v Hartlepool.

Keep a winning team? Can’t see how we change todays team v Barrow if all fit.
As long as Molyneux and or Hurst are firing then there is less pressure on Miller.
So Lavery on bench again.  Can’t leave LM out now after scoring 2.  He will be buzzing or at least he should be.

Biggins seems to blow hot and cold, although it's only early days with Lakin, he's put in some good strong performances.

There maybe a place for Biggins, perhaps coming on as an impact player or in a three in midfield if we change formation.

Sounded as though they applied the pressure early on rather than allow the opposition to take the initiative.

Indeed the tenor throughout was of a team that did not let the opposition feel comfortable. Intensive play has not been part of the Schofield style

.

That feels like a nice dilemma to have. Biggins has been playing well lately too. We now are starting to have options off the bench. If you can look to the bench and see Rowe and biggins or lakin sat kicking their feet waiting to get on, then that's a plus for me.

Players now have to perform for the shirt

Absolutely outstanding today every one of them. Tactics bang on and good move bringing Lakin off after he was warned by the ref.
Austen arguing with their fans after the game too

When did we last win three in a row?
It seems like ages ago.
Has to be season 20/21 hound under DM

This season

Matches 4, 5, and 6 wins against Stockport, Salford and Northampton and we all thought is was going so well under GMcS

Although it was early this season Dutch, it does seem like ages ago.
Who would have thought that we could have won three in a row with the way McSheffrey had us playing.

Lakin is a must sign

Close and Biggins will feel pressure to perform with another midfielder that can run in there! Add Rowe as an option for there of our wide and Ravenhill as a squad player of potential and you have a decent central midfield.

We need a plan to make sure we have solid options there for next season as early as possible.

Listening to  the Swindon commentary they are lacking confidence and had players missing ,but we would have known this and kept up the pressure . It’s game by game now and see what happens . RTiD ..

Strangely enough when that was offered up as a reason for our form you turned it round to blaming the board

Fantastic. Wasn’t there but what a result. Maybe just maybe we could get 3 on the trot on Tuesday.

I wouldn't be surprised to see PvO being a string of won win win win win

Take a tip from.me ... after today's good performance bank on.3 in a row

Must be the highest player ratings of the season, particularly from the defensive unit.

So good to hear it was a 90 minute performance.

The fella on the Swindon commentary thought Close was MoM
Anthony Grant it was, ex Swindon and Scunny midfielder and also Jamaican international (also a player we have been linked to in the past), I could understand why he thought close was MOTM but thought there were a few stray passes from him, I do like how he always tries to get us on the front foot and was my MOTM on Tuesday night. Anderson MOTM for me today tho.

One of the most pleasing things for me was that for maybe 10 mins early in the 2nd half Swindon had a fair amount of the ball around our box, a couple of shots, and corners, it just felt like we were about to concede any minute, but we stood firm and reasserted ourselves.
There's been many games when the slightest testing of our defensive resolve has resulted in goals against.

Excellent controlled and measured performance from the team. When you think of how we performed last week against Tranmere and pinched one this was the complete opposite and we deserved all the plaudits. Unlike many a recent game we were straight onto the front foot from the off, this gave us a confidence to keep going and with the slight change in our setup with the more advanced forward press we managed to keep them very quite and prevented them from creating much in the way of chances, one save from Mitchell and a shot off the post towards the end of the half, good concentration from us throughout.

The defence looked like they had everything in hand, and they did with all three having good solid games, Anderson looked back to something like we expect from him, and with the addition of Oluwu and the return of Nelson we looked strong and up for it, also noticeable was the absence of any clangers from all of them which kept confidence high. the wing backs both had solid game again with Brown looking more than a match for the absence of Knoyle, Maxwell looks to be on an upward curve and his performances each week are becoming stronger and consistent.

The reshaped middle two with Close and Lakin looked very good, i watched Close carefully, he put in a very strong shift, his covering was strong and he certainly covered ground, the fact he had the steadying hand of Lakin next to him allowed him some  free reign to push forward a little more, Lakin looks a dependable ally and did not allow the absence of Biggins to show, with more game time in the team he will be a very useful addition.

The front three overall put in their usual shift,Miller worked his socks off again and i thought his first touch was a bit better in this match, lets hope the confidence of the win and his assist will inspire him to kick on. I thought both Hurst and Moly were slightly timid in their play overall and did not over commit, Hurst should of done better with a couple of chances and the cutback from Miller when he slipped looked a real expensive miss but to give him credit he stuck to it, would like him to turn forward a little more instead of turning back from goal, and take his man on early to try to gain some dominance, even if it does not come off it puts doubt in the defender for the rest of the match.

Molly in a way did exactly the opposite to Hurst, he tried often to take his man on and although it mostly did not pay off for him he stuck to it, his constant policy of running at them eventually paid off and he managed his first goals for us very well, both good efforts and just at the right time the first just after the effort from Austin was well blocked, a real turning moment in the game. What confidence he should take from his brace should manifest itself in a good performance on tues night against Barrow, with some luck it may just turn his season along with our payoff hopes.

Overall then a very good controlled away performance, it was noticeable that we had less possession but were more effective with it, something to think on when we play at home, a large possession percentage means nothing if we play it around deep and don't penetrate the opposition enough, Tues needs to be again. straight from the start onto the front foot, we always play better when we get the initial push, first off. If we can maintain the shape and press we will get our rewards. Well done fellas.

I think the only point I would make is, we are all rightly happy with yesterday, but we are a work in progress, let’s not throw our toys out if we lose or draw on Tuesday.

I'm expecting a good performance from the off on Tuesday night and hopefully 3 pts. Then onto Sutton on Satdi which we are making the trip to,  which will be a cracking atmosphere if we are looking for the 4th win on the spin. Fingers crossed..
