2015/16 Season. Hopes, Dreams and Expectations
« on July 14, 2015, 10:28:52 am by PopStander »
Playoff final winners?

Paul Dickov wins Manager Of The Year?

Johnston's Paint Trophy Winners?

The Black Bank revitalising the Keepmoat?

Six points from Scumthorpe?

Theo Robinson gets England call up?

Could any of these happen??

Hopes - that we play good football, win enough games not to be relegated, maybe even get in the play off positions and have a bit of a run in one of the cup competitions. Also that the KM atmosphere and attendances increase.

Dreams - promotion to the championship.

Expectations - I'm an optimist and tend to think positively so I expect we won't be relegated and maybe even get into the playoffs, as well as 6 points off scunny - that's a given! I also expect that whatever season we have I'll be back for the 2016/17 season for more, with a season ticket and hopes & dreams!

Promotion would be a long shot, but I'll be disappointed if we don't finish higher than we did last season. Our plans have not been disrupted by off-field stuff this time.

A cup run would be nice. Improved home form is a must.

Dickov's got to prove himself as a manager on a consistent basis.

I don't see why we can have a decent cup run and a playoff push, we are gonna be the ones to watch.

Expecting better performances, more effort, greater organisation and folk putting in a shift.

If this happens then we should be easily competitive for the play offs.

As long as we get the couple of decent full backs that we all know that we need i will be expecting us to be in a top six position for most of the season and hoping that it happens that way.

As for an improvement in atmosphere in the ground, well it should happen naturally if the team is winning.
When i was talking to Charlie Swallow about the Black Bank thing and the intention to try to create a "singing area" he suggested that the Rovers fans at the NW top corner of the West Stand were going to be persuaded to go into the South Stand.
Does anyone know if that is to happen?

Expectations with two fullbacks, centre mid and left sided player is the manager to set the target of 90 pts and finish in the top two. Means winning at least 15 games at home plus draws and winning 12 games away plus draws.
Realism we should finish in the top six.
Failure not finishing in the top six
Hope being in the top four all season and crowds start to improve till the end of the season.
Dreams do not dream about football.

That's fine for the fans, but what about the team?

And even more importantly, what are aspirations of the owners for this season?

Err haven't we been seeing exactly that this last few weeks? It's not very hard to deduce they want a better team than last season; they want to avoid relegation and they are aiming at the top end of the table. What more do you want??

For me, expectations are to provide better entertainment primarily at home, and be consistently competitive.

That should produce decent results - if not, we'll get beat by better teams but as long as we are competing that is acceptable.

Decent results = better position. I expect we should be competing for the play offs at least.  Not achieving promotion/play offs is not a failure IMHO as long as we could do no more, in most if not all fixtures.

I fancy us to have a good season. Good business done re: recruitment. More to come. Looking forward to getting home for some games over Christmas and taking my little lad to his first Rovers game.

Just applying your logic, you don't say that it is, so does that mean it isnt? "A better team than last season" which is open to conjecture, aiming at the top half of the table which is another meaningless statement, your not an MP by any chance?

Great news then Popstander, it is my intention to be amongst you then.
I have always liked the way that you lads have "engaged" with the away fans.
Generally the south stand "singers" tend to react to the noise made by away fans unless we are winning.
The drummer doesn't do much to get things going and when i asked him why he doesn't get the crowd going by beating the drum he told me that his job is to amplify the any noise rather than start things ????????
I hope you guys can educate him.
I am looking forward to joining with you next season.

Hope-Champions of League one, playing the best football in the league, passing teams off the park.

Dreams-To see my home town team play a season at Premier league level.

Expectations-Play-off Qualification, Having a team that plays as a team, not individuals, The club to keep trying to improve at a pace that can be sustained.
Not forever signing experienced players that have to be replaced the season after, and seeing the youth policy starting to work even better this season.
For the club to lose it's amateurish way of doing things, try and run it like a potentially big side, don't accept that we will always be a small club.
