I know it depends on the manager and the players he gets in but...

What are you expecting next season?

Who knows? Far too early to be able to make any judgements about next season yet.

I expect promotion because I believe we'll have one of the largest budgets in the league. If that happens is yet to be seen.

York beat us earlier in the season and barring 10 minutes Cambridge were the better side against us. Watching the JPT final, Oxford gave a pretty good account of themselves against Barnsley who are a step up in quality from us. So, with this group of players we'd struggle in league two. But I don't expect us to have this group of players so who knows after that, promotion is by no means guaranteed but that will be most people's expectations (including mine).

I don't think that it is failure in itself but the abject manner that the side gas unraveled.
Neither of the last two managers seem to be tactically aware.
We have even started games with a completely wrong formation.

Don't buy into the 'go down then at least we will win some games' argument.

Do though hope that this squad is filleted from top to bottom and we can at least have a set of players who can act as a vaguely cohesive unit and give a shit for 90 minutes each week.

I voted mid-table. Not because I'm negative, but rather that it's going to be tough to drag ourselves up after this - and there are so many unknowables. There are teams that have sunk and stayed in League 2 - it's going to take a lot of things to go our way for us to climb out of the mire, and I wish the board the very best over the next few months. They have certainly got a lot of decisions to make, and I sure as shit don't possess the nous to even begin to know what needs doing OR the cohunes to do it.

Completely dependent on our budget, manager and our ability to move on some of the shite we have contracted to us.

In my opinion, and I've spent most of my life watching Rovers in the lowest division, we are no longer that club. The team may be LG2 but the club isn't, it has an infrastructure that most LG2 sides dream of. Unlike the days when we were struggling to make our way in the world at Belle Vue we are no longer in that position.

Saying that, we have a manager, budget, and (on paper at least) a squad that shouldn't be even be facing this predicament.

Uncertain times, sadly.

Most of my Rovers watching has been at this level.
It's disappointing to be there again.
My heart says we are now too good for this and will bounce back.
My head says that confidence is shot throughout the club, including the fans, and that substantive changes are needed or another relegation struggle could follow.

You say a good party line SM,Its already been decided the club is losing money every year that's why the owners keep bailing them out.Had to borrow from club Doncaster alledgedly so unless you know more than the rest I don't follow your logic. And the more you look at potential fixtures for next season I think its going to be hard to generate atmosphere,be like playing at the local park.

You don't follow my logic? Are you saying the infrastructure is the same at the Keepmoat as it was at Belle Vue? Is the commercial arm now better than it ever has been? Is the Foundation achieving fantastic results and is the Academy going from strength to strength? Do we have better sponsors now than ever before? Do we have the facilities that suit a club of a higher league standing?

You might think its a party line but I fail to see how or why. As I said before its my opinion after having watched the club through all the leagues during the last 5 decades.

The loan from Club Doncaster isn't that complicated, who do you think finances Club Doncaster? It certainly wasn't a case of having to borrow as you put it. And after chatting with the Finance Director over last years accounts I would say that its possible that I have a better understanding than some.

But people don't support the Academy / Foundation / Commercial dept / Sponsors, do they? They support the lads on the pitch for 90 mins and that's it. People will forgive piss poor infrastructure and the wider club being shit at their jobs as long as Rovers are winning.

JR gets a lot of stick but he understood that, he was happy enough to employ people like Diamond Dave because they were cheap and throw everything at the playing side.

You can argue the pros and cons of both approaches but the vast majority of fans would rather see the club adopt the JR approach.

I don't doubt that for a second. I was drawing the distinction between a club that is geared up to operate at a higher level as opposed to a team that currently isn't.

Can we bring back Diamond Dave, along with Tomi Ameobi, Dennis Souza, Shelton Martis and Lewis Guy?

Yeovil went down last season and found it hard to adjust to L2 this season, at one point they were in the bottom spot. I don't think we'll bounce back up, some readjusting with a new manager and a new set of players is required. Cheltenhan did it in the National League, Gary Johnson cleared out every player that took them down, and brought in a new squad of players and looking to get promotion back to the FL, Rovers will have to do the same.

If you want to win any league, most of the time everything has to be spot on. Pre season, getting players early enough, off the field making the money to fund it and the manager picking the right people.
We bucked that trend under Saunders it was a last minute rush and managed to do it, that doesn't happen very often.

Wouldn't mind a stabilizing season as I think its probably required. Get some in, let some go that kind of thing and then push on the following season.

Massive culling job will take place within seconds of the whistle blowing at the Burton game.

Most players walking off that game will likely find P45 within their kit bags on return to changing rooms.

You might be right about the players but 17 are contracted to 2017. So unless there are clauses in their contracts so they can opt out or we can get rid, it's going to cost the club to have a major cull.

Some of those contracted players will be busting gut to leave eg Williams.

Most yes I agree we will have job on getting shut.

Then there is Keegan on his 9 year contract courtesy of Dickov.

Maybe there should be p45s for the management/ coaching staff as well.
They certainly haven't got the best out of our squad.
