Nearly forgot to mention, when I gave my opinion that there are better defenders than rob jones at championship level. You blasted it stating we couldn't get any better and stay within a sustainable budget.
Well I give you meite, and tamas, and I thank you for your input.

In case it needs spelling out (and it usually does when Boomstick is involved):

Boomstick regaled us with his opinion that Jones was not good enough at Championship level.

I disagreed, an opinion I have based on our performances when he was fit.

Broomstick said Mills or Shackell would be better.

I said Cannavaro would be better still.

Boomstick said that there were better ayers that we could get within our budget.

I said I didn't doubt it and asked if he had any names.

Three months later, he comes up with 2 names.

Boomstick. Duck lad. There's summat whizzing just over your head.

There are better defenders out there, players rovers could/can afford.

I don't doubt it. Do you have any names?

Come on spadge. I'm salivating here. Way Jones played today, if we can get somebody better within our budget, we'll be world-beaters.

Don't keep the names to yourself.

All BST did was challenge you to name names - where did he say we couldn't afford the better players?  BST only makes reference to better players/our budget in relation to one game where Jones played very well?

It's how he insinuated it in a childish manner, kind of like a school girl. 'Na an na, who then?, who then? Who then??'
If I gave him those names at the time, he would have lambasted it in a very patronising and childlike way, just like he does with anyone who disagrees with him.
You just can't have a reasonable debate with people like that, very stubborn and stuck in their ways.
Anyway, I've made my point, end of thread as far as I'm concerned. good afternoon.

Boomstick

Let me point out to you what went on in that exchange.

You, quite fairly, gave us your opinion that Rob Jones wasn't up to this level. You chose a particularly unfortunate time, because he was just about to put in an immense performance as we became only the second team to beat the league leaders. Jones was man of the match that day. Best player on the pitch.

When pushed for names of players that would be better than Jones, you offered two players who would cost £1.5m and have £15k/week wages.

I pressed you, personally, for sensible names that we could bring in who would be better than Jones without breaking the bank. I did not once say that no such players existed. In fact, I said that I didn't doubt that they did. What I was doing was expressing my exasperation at people like you who babby about everything wrong with the club, but never make any positive suggestions. I was sick to the back teeth with listening to that babbying, so I asked you to give some names. You gave none. You were (as is your right) indulging yourself in aimless moaning. I was (as is my right) telling you to put up or shut up.

To be fair to you, you DID shut up. Until, for some unfathomable reason, you decided to pipe up again today.

Now, I am delighted that our board and management have found the funds and identified players as good as Tamas and Meite. Who knows? One of them might even put in a performance as immense as that one by Rob Jones against Leicester? That'd be grand.

Is that clear enough?

Poor old Boomy. Stubbs moves in the twilight zone of social media like the Night Prowler stalking victims daring to proffer a different viewpoint. His pen, glistening in the moonlight, hangs ominously over his victim before repeatedly   slashing down at his hapless prey. Bless him............I swear, one day I'll see him sidle up to Dickov in a 70's sheepskin to impart his gobets of wisdom. Hypothetically, I'm intrigued to see what the outcome would be.
