Similar comments about Martis a couple of weeks ago. Give the lad a chance to settle. Chambo will be back soon to give a bit of competition in that area which will help him to improve.

Give him a chance, he's young and first time in this level. He's most of the time all by himself down left hand side. You go out there and do better?!

If he hasn't got a right foot, then I've clearly misread the scores and we actually lost 2-1 at Watford last Saturday.

I thought he did okay yesterday. Not perfect, but I don't think all of the stick is justified.

He did well to deal with the pace of Gradel, and as usual, he didn't really have anyone in front of him to protect him.

He doesn't look to have the confidence in his ability to attack with the ball down the flank, unlike Robbo used to & JOC does when he plays on the right. He also doesn't have 'quick feet', an attribute needed to play the one touch, close passing game we relish at.

Having said that, he is young & still relatively new to the club, players & style of play SOD wants from his footballers.

I'm sure he'll get there in time, otherwise SOD wouldn't have brought him to the club.

On the plus side, he gives us some height in the team & that is an area we are lacking in.

However, I'll be glad to see Chambo back as soon as.

To be fair, how many left footed players DO have a right foot.
I agree he was poor last night though & looked a liability at times. But he is young,still learning & does have a bit of height unlike Robbo.

Agreed, whilst he must have shown something to win the contract the previous summer I would never have thought Dumbuya could look as accomplished as he does now. Given Friend has experience in L1 then I think our coaches can have him settled by Christmas. As mentioned furhter up the thread, he won't be used to this system where he's expected to get forward but also defend without a traditiopnal wide midfielder in front of him.

As touched upon.........if he had perfect balance and technique he would be out of our price range. The lad is practically another CH. Whenever the ball is oiked up in the air down the left or middle left, he wins the chuff. Attackers fear him and rarely jump against him. You can see it in the game. Robbo was very vulnerable to that. Robbo made up for that with his reading of the game, his basic defending skills, and knowing when to overlap. That said, Robbo had been at Rovers quite a few years before getting to that level and his effectively at the twilight of his career. George is still young and very much learning the Donny way.

He gives us much needed balance in stature at set pieces on attack and defending, something that we are traditionally weak at under Sean.
