Celtic fans - hang your heads in shame.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already.
Celtic fans had a banner out before the game against Aberdeen at the weekend.
I would link the picture if I knew how.
It is not samll either and took up the whole of a corner of the ground at the lower level.
It read:

YOUR DEEDS WOULD SHAME ALL THE DEVILS IN HELL
IRELAND IRAQ AFGHANISTAN
NO BLOOD STAINED POPPIES ON OUR HOOPS

Now this was clearly a minority expressing their opinion but if you see the size of the banners it took a considerable number of people to do this.
More worrying is that the group are claiming to be part of the Green Brigade - one of whose members is John Reid ex secretary of state. The green brigade are a recognized supporters group at Celtic.

I'm not sure you're right about John Reid being a member of the Green Brigade- he seems to be one of the main targets of their ire.

I have to say that Celtic's constant belly-aching about referees gets my goat nearly as much as this does. After all, everyone knows the Old Firm get looked after, just like the big boys do down here. A couple of decisions go against them, though, and they start up all sorts of conspiracy theories.

Spot on ,it is now widely acceptable that football should take an anti racist stance given the historical links between the far right NF and BNP with gullable sun readers.However some posters on here think it is acceptable to refer to catholics as fenians a deeply offensive term which leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.As a third generation Irishman born in this country i am proud of my heritige and the struggles my fathers endured.Dont get me wrong i dont condone killing people with bombs but neither do i like what i see pointless wars waged in my name without giving me a say in if i agree with it or not.I would much rather see a red ireland and UK niether green or orange.Politics should be kept out of football as it is the only bit of escapism that generally can unite people regardless of their backgroud.
