Ennis was encouraging think if we started him we’d of won. Start him Wright in for Baptiste next week and we’ll be sound. Add a couple more strikers means we’ll be up there imo

That first half were dire, A lot better second half, just need some fine tuning, and get a few more players in, and think we will be alright

Agree he’s not a striker. Did a bloody good job in the circumstances though.

Sadlier in behind the striker could be a huge asset this season

I'm not so sure.

There's something about that finish that tells me he's an instinctive finisher.

Target man, or loan striker definitely not, but maybe just maybe with the right dancing partner.

I always thought Gills could be a banana skin for us, so a draw was a reasonable result. We should have had a second goal in the second half, but we can only get stronger with experience between all the new players. We can beat Rochdale next Saturday so 4 points from the first 2 games will be good.

Even Posh and Pompey lost, and Sunderland weren’t so stunning today so we are still doing well.

If we can get these new strikers before the next game all the better.

.....   and Hull lost, so a great day.

Well hopefully get them in for the Rochdale game, what position did the lad from wolves play? Was he filling the role that was made by Wilks leaving?

Hard to compare when we played 4-3-3 last season and 4-2-3-1 today.

Ennis went in the middle, Sadlier moved out where Gomes was

Gomes was shocking. Game changed for the better when Ennis came on.

On the right and he could be more effective even than Wilks in that he keeps his head up and that pass out to May on other side of pitch when he himself was being closed down was superb.
I agree Ennis was better than Gomes but if you think Gomes is shocking you should have watched me play .

Yeah if we don’t make anymore signings before next match Gomes goes to the bench and Ennis starts imo. If Wright still isn’t fit I’d maybe start the other Wolves lad because Baptiste wasn’t convincing imo

I don’t think Gomez was shocking at all. Quite liked the look of him. Probably squad player mind.

Baptiste looked solid as a CB.. less so when covering our wide, but should that be his role.?

Baptiste looked solid, just a little slow. Which is a concern as I’m not sure how much support Halliday will be offering.

Of some of the names mentioned; Danny Hylton, Sam Winnall and Jonson Clarke-Harris all out of the match-day squads.

Everyone knows Sadlier is not a centre foreward and we need that focal point and goal threat up front. Other than that, we carried on from where we left off from last season, especially second half once the payers settled and started to pkay with more intensity.

Once the players get more familiar we'll be hard to live with in possession.

I'm sure we'd like to see a bit more from the full backs. James very safe and not very progressive. Halliday was a bit more adventurous but wasted some opportunities with slack passing.

Gomes needs to show more, not strong enough on that showing. Could be another Kiwomya.

Baptiste looked rusty in the first half but looked more assured in the second.

Sheaf. Thought he looked comfortable as the game went on. A safe pair of hands but for a young lad showed quite a lot of promise.

Ennis. Showed some great energy, good touch and passing. Loads of promise and will scare the hell out of defenders.

Definitely work in progress and the signs are good. One or two experienced/strong front men and I think we'll be in business!

Sorry, not true at all. Defensively Halliday was brilliant and hardly gave the ball away. The lad on the other side did but Halliday was my MOM.

Looked like a player who can make things happen and a bit raw so easy to get frustrated when watching but he always got in positions just needs to learn what to do when he’s in them. Could be a player given time probably a good player to bring on for now

I agree he was good defensively. I meant in forward areas. I'm sure there's more to come from him.

Halliday in the first half were crap, he kept getting caught out of position and allowing attacks into the box

Those who said the 1st half was bad, dire awful etc. i would say are somewhat over reacting. I would use the word disjointed.
The goal came at the perfect time and the 2nd half was excellent, not perfect of course.
We are work in progress but everyone must surely be encouraged by what they saw today with 6 new players used.
Couple more front men ( goal scorers ) and we are motoring.
This is going to be a very exciting season. As I keep saying fasten your seat belts it’s going to be a fabulous ride.
