If Bolton are worried about to much football for their 18/19 year olds, did they similarly worry about 18/19 playing in the 1st team in previous seasons, I suspect not!

BBC Radio Sheffield reports that, at the time of Bolton's statement on Monday concerning the postponement of Tuesday's game, Doncaster were not aware that a decision had been taken.

Rovers are understood to be continuing to prepare for Tuesday's fixture until they are told otherwise. they played last Tuesday and Saturday and had no complaints about games so why now, is it because they will be so far adrift by the time the take over goes through they will be nailed on for relegation

Someone's posted that the EFL rules state you cannot make U23 players play more than one game in 7 days, and this is the reason for them postponing. If true, then they're within the rules. No idea if it is true though.
Even if that's the rule, this is the senior team in the big boys league. If that was the case they would've quoted it in their statement and done it through the proper channels, not through a f**king Tweet the day before a game. Not annoyed at you for posting that redarmy, just the situation. Was looking forward to ticking the Reebok off my list tomorrow.

Went to ticket office at 1.45pm and spent £100 on 6 tickets, seriously hope I will be refunded, 3 points or not. Absolutely furious, as other have said above, plans made, working extra time today, what a load of toss. Boot them out the league

Those wanting refunds for tickets, won't we be one of their creditors now? Or do DRFC have to process the refund as we bought from them?

Genuinely if I were the person in charge of this at EFL headquarters now, I would be given them a choice: fulfil the fixture or face being kicked out of the league, make your choice and choose it wisely

surely they knew the age of their players  :facepalm:even before the Saturday match so they should have pleaded earlier

Medical reasons? I have sympathy for Bolton’s plight, but f**k me how can a bunch of 19 year olds not manage a game every 3/4 days?

Don’t quote me on this but if you’ve bought the ticket from the club ticket office (DRFC) then your contract is with them and not Bolton. So you should/will get your money back

If this rule about young players not playing twice in seven days is right, why didn’t they say something about it on Saturday then.

I can understand and sympathise with Bolton’s plight.  However given they seem to have called the fixture off unilaterally, we are at a disadvantage compared to Tranmere.

I don’t condone the calls some fans are making on twitter to kick Bolton out of the league, however I expect we should be given the points for this game rather than play them later in the season when they have a fuller squad..

It definitely shouldn’t be rearranged.

Agree with all this. It should be the usual default win for Rovers. We are the victim here!

I’ve noticed that the rovers twitter site have deleted the retweet of the Bolton statement. Maybe the game could still be on?

I suspect DRFC are given a block of tickets to sell, the money sits with DRFC while being sold and would then all be transferred over in due course.

So I’d have thought in this case DRFC will just refund the money the are holding from the sales

Why haven’t they only played games on Saturday since the start of the season, they’re trying to pull a fast one and get the game postponed

Exactly, they played twice within seven days last week so what is the problem.

Even if we are awarded a win it might just be a 1-0 same as that Brentord game was, so that in itself could be a disadvantage to us.

Nothing on DROS. I'm guessing we are continuing to assume the game is going ahead until it has been postponed in the proper way.

The issue I can see is if we are given the small 1 nil win the goal difference could mean the difference between 2nd and 3rd or 6th or 7th or even god forbid 5th bottom or 4th bottom and relegation.

The EFL must either tell them to play or season over

I know, which is why they haven’t bothered to ask this time and just made the decision themselves.

Totally agree, put the onus back on them, choose your own destiny time.

What if Tranmere stop up by 1 point, this needs getting a grip of.
