Refuse to play it. What a complete joke. Our game aside, they’ve barely even got a punishment!

I manage a junior side, our opposition cancelled at the weekend because they didn’t have enough players, we will get the points, no question about it.

Will this mean nothing in way of compensation for any loss incurred by rovers.

Absolute joke of a decision, but them 3 points will feel even sweeter when we turn them over.

£35k fine and a chance to win points they were never going to get. Absolutely stinks!

See my multiple posts on this over last few months. From day one we were never going to get anything out of these guys. Time and time again from at least 97/98 onwards we have received zero from the authorities, zero. This was always going to be the result. Slapped wrist for them and absolutely nothing for us - indeed we are in worse situation as they have now stocked up on players.

Darlings of the FA, strong connections no doubt. Stinks of one rule for...etc. Corruption in football administration shock?

Well, I had tickets in my pocket and a bus trip arranged for the game that they cancelled.
I will definitely go to this new fixture and take great delight in watching us beat them.
I am guessing that there will be a big attendance and a very bad atmosphere.

I will be very surprised if we appeal against this decision.

One word. SHAMBLES.

I am fuming. There is steam coming out of my head.

How can they come to this decision. What they have done is open a very very big can of worms.

I hope the club are going to take legal action on this.

I just can’t get my breath, to take 3 months to get to this decision is unacceptable, and then they make the wrong decision.

This has now become the punishment for every other club who now wants to carry out this action. The precedent has been set.

No consolation to you guys I know but I think you’ve been badly done to for what was no fault of your own. Much as I’m relieved for us I can only agree that this is once again a cop out by the EFL and why Parliament needs to look into them. As I’ve said before, ignoring this game, Wanderers have been despicably treated by them and I think they realised that coming down hard on us would have resulted in legal action. Maybe this is the least damaging of the options they had but of no comfort to Rovers. I obviously can’t hope you win the match eventually for obvious reasons but I hope you do well in every other game and maybe we could settle for a point like Coventry got?

Yep, bolton will never receive a penny or my money again although the main blame lies with the EFL

This is a dangerous president to set as I can see a lot more clubs doing this in the future, 50k fine if you have 5-6 players out is a small fee to play it later , with the time it took what would th have done if this happened in the new year

That's an absolute disgrace! Suspended for 18 months! Wtf is that about.

How can a club flagranty break the rules and not be punished! Yet, an upstanding club who plays by the rules, not even receive any compensation of any sort.

I hope the club complains to the EFL/FA and make a counter claim for compensation. I mean what is there to discourage clubs from taking matters into their own hands!!!!

OK they have to pay a small fine but otherwise, who's come out of this with the disadvantage. Yes, the honourable club!

Perhaps we should refuse to play the fixture after all the only punishment we could get is a 3 point deduction suspended for 18 months and a 50k fine

Exactly. As said above, this sets a dangerous precedent and an unfair one.

Who alse feels we should support the club in taking action over this??

It would be great though if we play them late in the season and our win confirms their relegation.

So, they've been given the chance to win back the points they should have lost, but didn't!

By the way lads, this has nothing to do with Trump; it's "precedent" not "president".

However, the more serious aspect is that this will now happen again and again, and why shouldn't it if there's no real punishment?

My biggest concern is the sod's law that always follows us around. Remember Charlton? It wouldn't surprise me if we went to Bolton and lost. That would really rub the salt in.
