Friendlies

Obviously these will be behind closed doors with the current pandemic but could they possibly be streamed so people can watch them?

Yes - they could be streamed...

No they can't.

Why?

Because of the locations of the games, they need a certain infrastructure to operate.

Furthermore, the EFL, just like the trialist situation, are urging all clubs to keep the friendlies low key. We need the Government to give permission for supporters to be allowed back into stadiums, and the clubs will not do anything that may affect that negatively.

I believe Man Utd have all U-23 matches shown on MUTV... so regarding that one get yourself a MUFC fan to join in a bubble with and who has MUTV...

Peterborough have already streamed a game v Peterborough Sports and charged £5 to subscribers, and look as though they are doing it for other pre-season games through a firm 42live

Could be a good idea not to, it gives other teams a chance to see the strengths and weaknesses with any new players, and with a shortened run into cups and league games any advantage you can gain to get a good start is worth the effort.
   Especially if we play Leeds.

Why are other teams doing it then? Posh, Ipswich, Colchester, all the Prem clubs, just to name a few.

Yes, he said about the loan keeper we were close to finalising and he was hoping to have him in for Saturday, but also stating he was happy to go with Louis Jones if it wasn’t completed.

The big thing that’s come out of the interview is that DM sees all the loanees being amalgamated straight into the first team squad, so they have to be top drawer, the lot of them!

2 or 3 permanent signings to further strengthen the squad wouldn’t go amiss, either.

You're assuming the games are at the Keepmoat.

From what I gather the last friendly is the only home Friendly and is planned to be streamed

Man Utd show their U23 games on MUTV, so I suppose the club could look into doing something with them

I was presuming some would be at home, and imagined they would be played at the training ground, so no I wasn’t.

And the training ground doesn't have the resource or capability to stream anything.

However, where they can stream they will do, and one of those will be from the Keepmoat (the final one) so fingers crossed that can happen.

You do make it sound like a conscious decision not to do these things when that's not the case.

We're at Scunny at 11am.

TEAM NEWS | Here's how we line-up in the first half:
Jones, Greaves, Wright, Horton, James, Trialist 1, Ravenhill, Hasani, Taylor, Lokilo, Coppinger. #DRFC

Wonder who's playing right back and what position the trialist is. No obvious striker.

Seems strange that Scunthorpe stadium doesn't have streaming facilities ? Do they not have iFollow ?

They might be saving the pitch and playing at their training ground or a local non-league club ground.

It's at Glanford. Scunny aren't streaming, but they are recording and putting highlights on YouTube afterwards.

Thanks guys. I'm still trying to find out when and where we play Bradford City. I'm hoping that it's not at Valley Parade and I might be able to get down to watch it.
