Liam Hoden has just published an article naming the list of strikers we are after! Presume this has been authorised so if nothing comes off then at least club can show the calibre they were seeking, or could be some elaborate diversion.

Got to get a striker and a winger/forward in. If not we’re in big trouble

This from Hoden...

https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/where-doncaster-rovers-are-at-on-transfer-deadline-day-3365003

What's he doing splashing that all over the national press
Doesn't he know it should be in the Rumour Mill?
We're going to lose out now all those clubs and agents know who we're after

He revealed all of the names this morning. Must be a case of "get the names out there and if one move doesn't come off, either for us or the players in question, having the info out thee may help them on a busy day.

This tallies up to what I was told earlier. If Sunderland have brought in the lad from Bayern that would indicate Grigg is on his way.

Think this has been an open book for over 24 hrs now RugbyRover to be honest.
If someone makes a better, offer then the make a better offer. Apparently we have a few irons in the fire.
What is to be is to be.

Agents don’t keep anything quiet though do they.   They are only interested in their clients pay, which subsequently earns themselves a large wedge.
That’s modern day professional football.

Agents ( not all of course ) are one of the worst things to happen to the game in modern times imo.
It would seem at times that Footballers are not allowed to think for themselves anymore.

Some of us have always appreciated them. It’s a thankless task and I am grateful for what they do for my club.

I don't believe they are not appreciated at all. You could ask why last minute.com on something we've been talking about for weeks now. I appreciate lots of things possibly need to fall in line as well though.

Part if me feels its games and them thinking they know better than others but I've nothing to back that up

I also am very grateful to Terry Bramall, and anyone else who puts money into the club.

However, unless I'm wrong, I believe Terry to be our only remaining benefactor.

I suppose the concern is that by waiting and waiting you all of a sudden end up in bidding wars that you can’t afford to enter.

As has been pointed out earlier, we already lost out on the forward player that’s gone elsewhere. We saved money by not sanctioning these deals any earlier, but it could end up proving to be a false economy if we’re then scrambling around trying to put deals together at the end.

A fine balancing act. Just got to trust that in 6 hours time we’ll be stronger than we are now. Fingers crossed.

At the beginning of the season Richie was told X amount is your budget and if you want to sign any players once you've used that budget you'll need to move players on e.g. Bogle and Williams. That's pretty standard for every season. The board can obviously see our weaknesses though and can see unfortunately we won't be able to move them two on, so they have expanded what Richie has available this window to fix those weaknesses. Most other club owners would just say make do, you've used your budget.

Hylton is surely too far past his best now.

wednesday have signed Saido Berahino

On 27 February 2018, Berahino reached the landmark of two years without scoring a goal.[80] Berahino continued to struggle in 2017–18 and with the team in deep relegation trouble in April and Hughes having been sacked in January, he was banished to the under-23s by new manager Paul Lambert due to poor discipline. He did not play again under Lambert and Stoke's relegation was confirmed shortly before the end of the season.[81]

he did however"allegedly"  "score" in "another sense" remember it in the papers    ..... not along "Thorne Road"   though

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saido_Berahino

was this the bloke who reckoned he had signed for a premiership club but it didn't happen ?

I wonder why Wigan haven't shown any interest in Will given the successful time he had there along with the fan repour he received?

Ah well, their loss...still can't get that dream out of my head.
