Left back dilemma
« on October 05, 2013, 09:35:26 pm by colincramb »
Given the situation with James husband, what do people suggest as a solution? Personally I thought Reece did well there today but obviously we really do now have no natural cover for either full back position should we pick up another injury. Not sure who's available as a loan? My guess would be another young player. Tricky one is this

Reece looked better at left back than right back

I thought he had a great game today over that side! Second to Furman in my MOTM thoughts today.

Yes, but Quinn on the right panics me at times!

Controversial opinion time but I thought Wabara looked better at LB than husband has done for a good while, and it is worth noting I don't really rate Wabara that much so I'm not being biased. Quinn is an excellent defender and is a very solid full back, it's just his distribution that needs improving but then the same can be said for Jones too

Re Quinn I noticed that leicester camped in his quarter of the field for most of the first half don't think theo is much of a back tracker

We have to try and get somebody in in my opinion, no cover at full back at all now

How long do we have Wabara for?

Wabara was extended to January. I thought yesterday was his best performance so far, but he's too right-footed to be an effective left back.

Worth noting that Dickov said that neither Wabara nor Quinn were fully fit.

Think Quinn is a better option for defending than wabara but Reece is better going forward.thought they both had good games on sat especially Quinn who didn't give dyer a stiff all game

Wabara may do ok at left back for the time being, but I do think more cover is needed long term. Playing a right footed fullback on the right can have it's benefits though. Especially as alot of wingers these days are playing on their opposite side so they can cut in and shoot.
