Leeds might be able to pay for the half time oranges again!

If you have Doncaster Rovers on your CV that's what happens to your price tag.

It's madness isn't it....I can remember chatting to him over the wall at Belle Vue when he was subbing in a friendly,..Just a raw kid who tbh I thought was destined for a career in the lower leagues as I didn't think he had that much potential...Amazing how it's turned out for him...

Saw him at Leeds Bradford airport on the 14th of June with a "get me out of here" sticker on his bag!

Nice to see the parachute payments are doing their job of subsidising wages. It just makes a joke out of the system. How can a championship club with gates of sub 20k justify that kind of money?

Mickey Walker earmarked him for a Premiership career even in those 'raw youngster' days . That's the difference between the pro's who work  with players all ther lives and us .

Ah but he hasn't had one yet. I saw nothing in him that he'd come good either.

The goal he scored at Hartlepool showed he had special potential.

He looked like he had quality at a young age. That goal at the town end was class.

I thought he looked shit hot as a kid - I believe we had a chance to sign him before he moved to motherwell - in my opinion he was the one we could've had that really got away! However it's taken him longer than I thought it would to 'make it' and as of yet he's still unproven beyond the championship - £11m is very big money!

I suppose if he can score as many goals as last year the prize for getting to the premiership, in Fulhams eyes at least, is worth it?

So in theory, is he the most expensive player to have worn a Rovers shirt?

Apparently Liverpool area out to sign Divock Origi for £10m.

So, apparently, a 19 year old who led his country's forward line to the quarter finals of the World Cup is worth less than a 27 year old who has a moderate scoring record in second grade football and gets the odd match for a country that didn't come within farting distance of qualifying and has won one WC finals match in the past 30 years.

Mad.

To add to that Klose who starts for Germany has cost 3.3m in his career. The premiership and parachute payments as a lot to answer for.

This is lunacy. They could build a competetive championship squad for that. Worth 4m absolute tops and thats being kind.

One thing is for sure - Leeds have been handed a lifeline after all the cost-cutting the new owner has put them through. Be interesting to see how much gets re-invested in to the team?

He's a fair bit better than Sharp now both in terms of all round play and goalscoring.  About the same age too.
