The enforced confinement has given me the opportunity of going through old programmes and Football League Reviews. This is one of the 1969 winners, with a great view of the old Rosso End half time scoreboard.

On me head !
-
Ha ha ....sorry about that. No idea how that happened! 🍺
-
Are you in Australia by any chance? ;)
-
Does that help??

Just a long shot here, does your father in law post on this forum?

Anybody remember the Colin Clish song to the tune of land of amthousand dances?
I saw him score a rare ( for him) goal away at Peterborough that season.
-
Was that a 1-1 draw? Distant memories of that game

Na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na, na na na, see Colin Clish Hooo!
-
That's it BB. Him and Harold Wilcockson were a great pair of full backs.

Definitely 1-0 to us Raven. We were on the side terrace on a cold Saturday. I think that Colin only got about two goals for us but he could certainly tackle.
-
That is obviously a section from the ‘Football League Review’ which was an added insert into your programme.
They are up there in my loft aside all my programmes, in a suitcase, ‘hidden’ away from my wife.
Colin Clish......my hero. Nuff said.
-
Was that a 6:45 kick off because they didn't have floodlights? Andy Wilson played for Chesterfield after leaving Rovers?
-
No it was a normal 3 o'clock ko BB.
-
I'm thinking of the wrong game!

Swapping Dennis Leigh and Graham Watson for Wilcockson, Clish and Rabjohn turned out to be one of the best transfer deals in our history. I think Tommy Docherty's Rotherham lost out there.
-
They certainly did BB plus John Hazelden later joined us later. I always thought that Chris Rabjohn was very talented but never quite reached his full potential. More consistency and he would have played at a much higher level. I was at school with Willie Watson and was even more pleased when he rejoined us although I do think that he was underrated by a lot of our fans. There's a local lad called Graham Smith that played for Leeds and then Stockport that still blames Willie for ending his career with a tackle. He could be a little crude with some challenges.

Last time I saw Colin, he was a detective with BT police. I hope he is well. Keep safe everyone.
-
hardest tackler in my era I can remember was Alan Littlle (Animal). Anyone remember that tackle at Crewe away when their player went in with a reckless tackle with him, you heard the crack. He got carried off, Little had an egg on his knee and just carried on as if nothing happened. Would love to have him in the Belle Vue Bar evening chat as per Peter Kitchen night a couple of years ago...

He is happy in retirement with his wife. One of his knees is knackered following a couple of failed replacements. Apart from that he is fine.

Great photo - seeing a team photo without Copps in does seem oddly strange, however :D
-
-.... and a superb goal v Aldershot into the Rosse End net on that famous 7-0 night ?
Just outside box - inside left position - left footer all along floor
(PS Watching us v Daggers at Stoke recently and our goals were totally different to what I had filed them away as - so could be wrong again)
