I thought there was a new rule about a 'club-developed' player in each match day squad this season. If so I don't know which of those 18 qualifies? Did Butler play in our youth teams?

Edit:

https://www.sports.legal/2017/04/part-one-home-grown-player-requirements-in-english-football-and-the-introduction-of-club-developed-players/

On 6 April 2017, the English Football League (“EFL”) announced that its 72 members clubs (each of whom compete in one of the three divisions that the EFL oversees – the Championship, League One, and League Two) had approved proposals to increase the number of “home grown players” in their match day squads for the forthcoming 2018-19 season and to also include at least one “club-developed” player.

In addition to the increase in home grown players that will be required on EFL’s clubs team sheets, a new definition will be introduced to the EFL Rules and Regulations, that of the “club-developed” player. Each EFL club will need to include one “club-developed” player in their match day squad, who will be defined as a player who has been registered with their current team for at least 12 months prior to the end of their U19 season. Should a club fail to name such a player, they will only be able to name 6 substitutes rather than the normal allocation of 7.

What about McCullogh,I think he was 19 when he joined the club, and played for Northern Ireland u19's u20's,but don't know if he qualifies with the 12 months before end of u19's bit?

Maybe that solves it. Convenient if that is the case.

Edit: McCullough was already 19 when he joined us. Maybe Beestin who was 18.

Copps is only 17

Which explains why they keep subbing him then.
Don't want to burn him out.

We look a completely different team to last season. The movement is a joy to watch. We look a very good team front to back.

We need to be more ruthless in games, putting chances away, problem we had last season, hoping for an excellent 2nd half display.

According to BBC......

45'+4'
Alfie Beestin (Doncaster Rovers) wins a free kick in the defensive half.

sky sports also have Alfie B 'winning a freekick'. Must be same short sighted reporter doing a double shift for both companies. He can surely afford to go to specsavers.

If we want to be a promotion chasing side, we need to step up and win games like these, a big test of GM and his managerial skills.

Butler yellow carded.
He took one for the team to stop a good break by Burton.
A good booking if ever there was one.

Yep but we might have been 2-0 down if he hadn't got this one today.

Another good opportunity wasted by Marquis after a pass by Rowe.

Easily the better team but some poor finishing today particularly from Marquis and some of our crosses into the box lacked a bit of accuracy.

Just leaving the ground and thought we were poor. Not sure how people thought we were the better side.

Burton didn’t do anything flashy but they nullified us from the first minute. Shut everything down and stopped us passing so we resorted to trying to lump it forward.

We didn’t create anything clear cut really other than the Marquis sitter, and our set plays were absolutely dreadful.

That was largely boring and frustrating as f**k imo. Passing was too slow at times, though Burton did defend very well in the second half I thought.

We created the JM sitter miss. One JM header cleared off or near the line. Joe Wriight's header and both Wilks and JM fired over when they should have made the keeper work.
There was also the pull back on Wilks on the edge of the area that should have got their last man a red card.
That is far more than they created.
