The endless talk about the shortcomings of recent goalkeepers only emphasises their general inadequacy. Risk-averse Jones has his permanent critics and none of the recent loanees - TLT excepted - reaches even a generally agreed level of “satisfactory”.

We go round in circles. It’s time for those who recruit to improve their judgement.

Kendal Town - laterally moved leagues without notice (I get in a regionalised world it needs to happen, but the non communication to the club is unfair)
Southend - another transfer embargo
Swindon - still a basket case. CEO has come out against the owner
Oxford City - see point 1. 3rd different league in 3 years
The list of players released from championship clubs. Some serious money gonna be spent in that league!

JM was good in the air I’ll give him that. He’s actually just been released by Harrogate.

I think people are being harsh on Jones though. He doesn’t drop the clangers that Mitchell used to. And he can actually kick a ball.

If get the the Wrong keeper in next season and end up having  to draft in another  loan midway throug the season ….it will be yet another L2 for another season . TLT was partly responsible for the upturn in form when he arrived and had he been here from the start , we could have had an automatic slot and not a playoff place !!
