To quote my late father ‘You could cut my phlegm with a knife’.
I’ve got a killer headache, phlegmy cough and the shivers.
Being married to an ex nurse, you’d think I was ripe for a bit of coddling, wouldn’t you?
Of course not. She’s gone to her Mum’s for the day as me being ill ‘bores’ her.

Are we married to the same woman.?Madam Toes is an ex nurse too and has no compassion at all for my plight.
She's buggered off out with her mates.
I've always said I hope I don't get to be a burden as she'd just leave me in a corner to rot.
I'm worse than gravely ill now, can't get warm, sore throat.
Poor me.

She’s just come back now, 90 mins later than usual. She came upstairs and I thought ‘Oh, now I’m in for some quality caring’.
She came in the bedroom, scooped the cat who had been slumbering beside me and asked ‘How is he’?
‘Him? What’s up with him?’
‘He had a Mexican stand off with Winston from down the road before I went to Mothers and you know how stressed he gets’.
She stood there, rocking the furry puff and singing his ‘relaxing’ song before taking him downstairs for Dreamies.
‘Any chance of a brew’ I asked weakly.
‘Yes but I need a poo first’.
And with that, she took the cat downstairs, fed him treats and she’s now on the toilet.
Hopefully I’ll get a brew by 6pm. And I’m pretty sure she’ll wash her hands before making it.

Its our walking club Christmas do today.
Should be on a 6 mile walk from Ranby to Retford, then Christmas Dinner and party at this posh hotel in Retford.
All paid for, but instead I'll be dining on paracetamol.
Mrs T has gone. I hope she enjoys it.

What a kind woman to leave you in peace during your illness.I hope she’s bringing you home a doggy bag TT?
I’ve gone from a can’t get warm, hacking chest cold to sweaty, snotty head cold overnight.
Thankfully the bed’s just about dried out now.

Left me in peace is the main thing mug.
She'd only be moaning about my man flu if she was here.
Pretty similar here, spent most of the night trying to stem the flow from me left nostril. The rest of me head's a shed.

It's turned into a wracking cough now.
Got up at 4.50 after a night of cough splutter, cough cough splutter.

For my £36 Christmas non dinner Mrs T brought me back 3 mini mince pies.
Bargain!

Went back to an old favourite start word today, resulting in a 5 second 2
3-1
5.

Mini mince pies should be outlawed. Especially at £12 a pop.
It’s day 3 in my sick bed. We seem to have come at this illness from opposite directions TT. I started with the cough and have moved onto constant nasal discharge. Awake every 10 mins to blow my beak.  I’ve done a toilet roll and a half in 36 hours.
Strangely, I woke up at 4am, had a good clear out and went for a wee and thought that I felt a bit better. Changed my sodden illness clothes (aptly named sweatshirt, fleecy joggers and thick walking socks), thinking I may be turning the corner, but it was a false dawn. I’m swaddled in bed, curtains drawn.
Still ambled to a 4 though.
0(2)
2(1)
4(0) Went for a more obscure 4th letter instead of the obvious.
Gotcha!!

A bit of a long drawn out 4 today, as I too feel a bit better.
0-2
0-3 stumped for ages after that so ditched one of the letters just to put in a word that fitted.
2-0 a bit more finger drumming... Aha!

Shame about Terry Hall, I could appreciate his music though not a fan of the genre.
As Wolfie knows, me and John Kelly used to play Rock and Blues, with a bit of T Rex or Roxy music in the soundproof boxes at Rockware, as the machined jammed up and we got aanother bollocking from Idle Jack
