Jones wanted more regular football so must not see Lawlor as much of a threat.

I’m quite disappointed with our keeper situation.

A real opportunity to sort that problem position and it doesn’t feel like we’ve made the most of it.

2 year deal for Jones is surprising. I assumed he’d want to play and would at most take a1 year deal.

Imo he was a bit unlucky to get dropped so quickly. We stuck with Mitchell through worse form. So wouldn’t be surprised if he had a good season given the chance.

Best to wait and see, hopefully with a better performing, harder working team infront of them, time will tell if they are enough for us in league two,if not then im confident GM,CB and any new coach will work on best way to get what we do need.

Really don’t understand the decision to keep both Jones and Bottomley.

I was fully expecting Jones to reject the deal and go lower to get regular 1st team action.

TBF Jones had an operation that kept him out a good while

Most goalkeeper don't come good until they are 25/26 year old and most still have 10 year after that left in them

Interesting one. Little coaching experience. Grant must know him and has spotted potential in him.

Thought his name rang a bell, spent some time here on loan didn't he? 35 isn't old for a goalie, surprised he's called time on playing.

Fun facts

Both Kyle and his Dad Glan were goalkeepers and called up to the full Welsh squad without either of them earning a cap

Kyle was on the books of both Rovers and Swansea (my second club) without making an appearance for either

I just hope that he can teach certain players how to catch a ball instead of punching it all the time!

Glan Letheren was a very good club cricketer, played for Bolsover Col. in the 70s
