Who would you keep?
« on January 15, 2014, 01:00:50 pm by Dare to dream! »
Paul Goodwin just tweeted players who are out of contract in the summer

Turnbull - Keep
Maxted-Keep
Meite-Let go
McCombe-Unsure
Wakefield-keep
Keegan-Keep
Cotterill-Keep
Coppinger-Let go
Meade-Keep
Middleton-Keep
Peterson-Keep

I'd let Copps go hes been great for us but starting to become less effective and i bet he's in the top 5 for our top earners, get some fresh blood in.

Not sure on Jamie until we've seen him injury free.

And i would only use Meite for this season to help us steer clear of relegation, relying on him the whole season would be risky.

Definitely keep Turnbull and Peterson and let go Maxted and Wakefield.
Unsure about the rest.
Depends what budget he has to play with.

That's always assuming we don't have to reduce the wage bill so maybe everyone should go and start again .
Yeah because that wouldn't allow new signings to hold us to ransom would it.

Turnbull, Keegan, Meité and McCombe are the only ones I would keep.
I think Cotts has been found out at this level, and Copps has been more or less ineffectual this season as is on a steady decline. I don't think any of the yt players are showing Championship ability, and if that's where we want to be then they are dead weight. However, seen as we have a tight budget I think we may have to resign a few to keep the numbers up.

Much depends on whether we can "keep" our championship status.

It will depend on whether or not we stay up.

I don't think we'll be able to keep Turnbull though, unfortunately. He's good enough for any side in this division should one of them happen to lose their goalkeeper.

Why dose every thread on this forum have to include a dig at the board - this was a reasonable question about the choice of players for next season. Most of the responses have been constructive and well thought out. I'm not just digging at "The Vicar" it just seems that everything turns into arguments and slagging's.

Lets please just celebrate the fact we have a team to support. We could go like Darlington.

did they turn in to comedians over night or have they been in training? surely JR wouldn't have allowed two comedians to come on board - he knew what he was doing didn't he?
