Not bad, just tell the top 4 to shooot more and get in the box more and we may have a chance of getting something out of the game

He seems to be more cautious away from home and go for it a bit more at home. Let's face it we need to get the players with attacking instincts forward and beyond the ball more if we are going to score. If we play that system ball retention is key though otherwise we should go 442 with Harry playing off brown. I'd give 4231 a try to start and if it's not working after half an hour change it.

We have so many midfielders, what about just playing Khumalo, Meite and Tamas at the back?

Husband and Copps were decent at Blackburn, cant see both being dropped.

Think we need to be solid and stop them playing through us and we may get something. the OP's team will is about right I would put husband in for duffy though to provide extra cover on the wing for stevens because Wigan tend to push the fullbacks right on

There's only one way to stop full backs pushing on and it's not by playing defensively against them it's to try and pin them back. Rosler as we saw at Brentford likes to play a high tempo pressing game. If we try to build slowly from the back they will murder us, we need to play a high tempo ourselves getting the ball forward into the final 3rd as quickly as possible, and I don't mean by lumping it either, just by being positive, always looking for a forward pass and moving the ball quickly. When our players start having 4/5/6 in our own half we struggle to gain momentum, it's when they move it with 1/2/3 touches that we are most effective. It's all about tempo.

Depends if we sign the lad from Hull before tomorrow:

Without

                Turnbull
Tamas Khumalo Meite Stevens
          Wellen De Val
  Duffy   Forrester   Husband
                Brown

With

 Turnbull
Tamas Khumalo Meite Stevens
Duffy  Wellen De Val Husband
       Brown Proschwitz

Turnbull

Tamas
Meite
Khumalo
Husband

Duffy
De Val
Wellens
Forrester
Coppinger

Brown

Is the 11 I'd go with. A flexible 4-5-1 with the ball on the floor for Duffy/Copps/Wellens/Forrester to build attacks.

Mine would be

Turnbull

Tamas Khumalo Miete Stevens

Keegan Wellens

Duffy Forrester Husband

Brown

If we sign the lad from Hull

The same line up except Brown for Husband and Nick in the middle seeing as Browny spends all his time on the left wing.

I agree about  including Hubby with Stevens though JH  looked a bit lost as to where to position himself in a large part of the Blackburn game . Someone needs to bomb down that line to get the crosses in from further up field than we have been doing . Cotts and Hubby could both do that provide they got close follow up support when bombing it from their full back partners . Hubby seemed  best at providing such support to his winger when we started HIM at fullback . Our best defence once Stevens returns to Villa will include him.

Hi bruv, agree completely with that.

I was surprised that Husband was found a berth at wing-back on his return to the team, rather than at his customary full-back position.
I don't think he was very effective there at Blackburn.

The corresponding fixture at Wigan was one of my highlights of this season so far.
A really enjoyable away fixture and a fantastic performance by the lads.
I was on Cloud 9 at half time and although our 2-0 lead was pegged back at the death, I was so proud of the lads.

Interesting to look at the team who achieved that great performance and result that night:

Turnbull

Wabarra    Khumalo    Jones    Husband

Copps    Wellens    Keegan    Cotts

Brown    Robinson

So, how close to that team and that performance can we get tomorrow?

Who would you like to see take the place of those not available?

Haven't seen anything. I did see on twitter a few lads saying he was in the pub with them last night!
