Is Simon Whaley still at the club? I know he was on a non-contract basis, but he's fast becoming the next Sam Daho (Invisible).

It's a bit of a shame that Whaley evidently didn't cut the mustard but no harm done. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. From the little I've seen of Clark I reckon he's got what it takes to make it as a pro in L1/L2, which is where we will have been when we took him on as a lad so I'm not concerned about the youth system either. We should start seeing the benefits of the investment in another three or four years' time. I like a home grown player as much as the next man and I'm looking forward to the youth set-up bearing fruit.

Hopefully as mentioned above it's a case of freeing up wages and overheads for a forthcoming arrival.

Was he not just at the Rovers to get fit - we were short of players just before the Pompey game so we registered him - I don't think SOD had any thought of taking him full time, just needed cover when we were short of players
