Yes it is John McCombe.

They have Joe Leesley playing for them who we had on trial during the summer. He has just won the player of the year for their league as well I believe.

In Simon Weaver they have a good manager who could take them to the EFL.

I’m not a big fan of the Salford F.C. owners and the club they mainly played for ,but I dare say they know a bit more about football than a window fitter and a lorry driver

Simon Weaver is from Donny and even played for us. He made 2 appearances at centre half on loan from Sheffield Wednesday in 1997. He has been Town's manager for 9 years.
His father Irving Weaver took over the club around 2011 and since then has steadily grown the club by improving the facilities and perhaps more importantly, taking the club into the community, getting local schools and kids teams involved on matchdays etc. He arranges transport for disabled, elderly and adults with special needs, and he seems to have a good relationship with the nearby hospital who use Town's gym and physio facilities in exchange for use of a small car park on match days. Weaver also has a good relationship with the local authorities who haven't stood in his way with any of his plans, unlike the previous owner Bill Fotherby, the ex- Leeds chairman who by all accounts was something of a 'Del-boy Trotter' character.
I'm led to believe that Irving Weaver was pals with our late president Trevor Milton, as well as been associates with Terry Bramhall and Dick Watson, and I've also being told that they were trying to get Weaver to get involved with Rovers but he'd already set his sights on Town.

Irving is very close with TB and was also with DW.
He had a local building firm, Weaver Homes, which some posters will know.
It now trades as Strata Homes.
Irvings’ son, Andrew, is now CEO of the business.

They would make ideal opponents for a pre season friendly. Forward thinking club with a Doncaster connection.
