caused a lot of problems this season and may be one of the reasons we get relegated (if we do).

Saunders seemed to have it under control. What did he do that PD hasn't? If we do stay up, it really needs looking at, we can't afford to keep missing key players.

He got in an ex- Paratrooper / SAS man to sort it out. Maybe we should do the same.

I wonder exactly what Mal Purchase is doing these days?

I thought Mal Purchase was the real deal. I don't think it's a coincidence that before he came we were plagued with injuries, and after he left we were again.

I think the idea that our injuries are just luck of the draw doesn't stand up very well. It's a bit more ingrained in our club, and needs a proper look at.

I think it's because our players are stretched to their limits every week in attempting to compete at this level, and only having a small squad magnifies the problem.

If it were a pitch problem we'd have had the same injury situation last season as we'd had every other season at the Keepmoat. And bearing in mind the Keepmoat pitch was at its worst ever last season, it suggests it's not the reason for the injury situation.

Failing those theories the only thing left to blame it on is a lack of a Mal Purchase type fitness regime.

Mal was sat behind me at a game not long after Saunders had moved to Wolves, seemed a personable bloke and certainly knew his strength and conditioning. Can't believe he's ended up in India, he seemed to really sort our players out, surely someone in this country would have wanted his skills?
