Fanzine Sell Out
« on March 12, 2017, 01:36:37 pm by VivaRovers »
Thank you to everyone who purchased a copy of issue 87 of the fanzine yesterday from myself, Howard or Mike.

That's the most we've printed in a fair few years and we still sold out, so will increase the print run again for the final issue of the season.

As ever, it's always good to hear what you thought of the 'zine, what you liked or disliked, to help us keep improving it, so if you've read your copy do let us know your thoughts, below.

How many did you sell mr. Vivarovers ?

I seem to recall seeing a vivarovers flag at some rovers away games
donkeys years ago, some younger lads had it .

Iam sure the flag had red/green/white colour scheme in it ,that has to be you?

All of them, we sold out. Print run of 380.

And no, I've never owned a Viva Rovers flag

You should try and find owner of said flag and take some photos of it ,as Iam sure you would use
the photos.

Iam trying to recall when I first saw the vivarovers flag,it was either a away game in conference or a league away game before we went into conference.never saw it at BV,but that's not to say it was ever used at BV.

So where did the name vivarovers come from vivarovers please

Generally? I don't know. In terms of my username? It's daubed underneath a railway bridge on the way into Doncaster, that I used to pass on my way in from Lincoln, and now London. So I named a website after that graffiti, then used it on twitter, then on here.

So that vivarovers graffiti that you saw could have well been the makings of that vivarovers flag .

I  agree and admire the restraint shown in writing it!

I confess I had very little restraint reading Trump on Rovers and a couple of the other articles. I reckon I gotta be Top Chortler by now....

Cheers chaps

What date do you need stuff for the last issue of the season Glyn ? Got an idea for a quite interesting feature but it'll take some researching.

Deadline for submissions for issue 88 is 19 April, but do please drop me an email first (address is on inside cover of the fanzine) to let me know what you have in mind - just so I can check there's no crossover with other planned pieces.

Also, just as a heads up, we've been getting a lot of submissions lately, so whilst I always welcome fresh input and ideas, I can no longer guarantee we've room for everything we're sent. Hopefully it'd be fine - I've only had to turn down one piece so far - but just thought it best to let you know up front.

Cheers RR45, but could you email me rather than PM please... got loads going on in next few weeks so helps to keep all the fanzine stuff in one place. Also makes it easier for me to reach you.

Read some of it, brilliant as usual. But Glen, that editorial is the best thing I've read in quite some time. Brilliant stuff mate.

Loved the article on nicknames. I would never introduce myself using my nickname, but I was called The Colonel by some in the American Football team whilst at uni, after getting arrested (and released without charge 12 hours later) for the suspected burglary of a KFC...
