Averaging just over 1 yellow card per game and NO red cards in league games this season, it's no surprise to see Rovers as the "fairest" side in the league.

In fact, only Aston Villa are friendlier across the EFL.

So, that begs the question, do nice guys prosper?

I just see it as really good discipline. I also believe that you can rough a team up with really good tackling but just being strong in the tackle, which at times I think we lack.

I agree though that the argument is seen as too nice.

Plymouth seem to have picked up now they are playing 90 minutes with a full team on a regular basis.

There's bookings and bookings. I don't think it does you any good to be seen as a dirty side and I would soon get annoyed if we were constantly getting players booked for dissent. However we do seem reluctant to commit the kind of "tactical foul" that can get your card count up but can also prevent an effort on your goal.

You don’t need to be nasty these days, it’s about being syndical. How many goals have we conceded where players have just run through us like a hot knife through butter. We need to spot danger early and take a yellow card rather than risk conceding. We are a young side though and these are the things our players have to learn.

Not at all. If we were more clinical, rather than cynical, at either end of the pitch late on in games then we could easily be 6 points or more better off. That will make us a better team not the card count.

The ifs, buts and maybes scenarios are irrelevant. We are where we are, we've got 30 points from 24 games, and there's a whole load of improvements we need to make in January if we want to continue making healthy progress.

We need more width, a full-back, a finisher and someone who's going to get stuck in and not pussyfoot around in midfield.

Over 24 games, these have been our weakest areas and we'd be foolish not to try and improve them as much as we possibly can, during the one month in the season when we can actually chop and change our squad.

What people might say if we were struggling or half a dozen points or places worse off doesn't matter, as that's not where we are.

I read that thread and it was rather cyclical and quite a bit of hypothesis on either side of the debate BUT you summarised our position perfectly
