Why does it matter how old someone is? Is having a players name and number on your shirt an issue?

If you can't have a bit of escapism when you go to the match then when ever could you?

Go for it Philsky.

It's a joke boys, calm down. I say the same to my 17 year old when he wants ketchup on his dinner

Football shirts are a joy and obsession of youth... The trouble is, I can't stop being fascinated by them. Adidas and Nike know what they are up to.

It was amazing being a teenager in the 90's and getting shirts of foreign clubs when you went away on holiday. Back in the days before you could order literally any club shirt from around the world online in the blink of an eye.

I have family in Austria and in 1990 i came back with a Rapid Vienna shirt and the Austrian national shirt that they wore in Italia 90 with the black swirl. Felt like royalty at P.E in school wearing those.

A slightly cheaper option was collecting obscure Subbuteo teams.
Galatasaray back in the 70's was one of my favourites

I had a Subbuteo five a side set in the early 70’s and I bought a Hamilton Acc’s subbuteo team because I liked the red and white hoops . A year or so later I went to Belle Vue for the very first time, admittedly the home team played in Red shirts but you get my drift

I had an Ajax away shirt in 89. You know the one, blue with white and red diamonds on the bottom half. TDK sponsoring. I got mistaken for a Crystal Palace fan no end of times.

I had a Flamengo 1989 adidas home shirt back in the day. Thick black and red hoops. Stunning shirt. I think I gave it to my nephew when I “filled out.”

About twenty years ago I went to Gretna FC for a game and had a root round their bargain bin before the match and pulled out a Clydebank shirt for a four year old for the princely price of 50p. Seeing as my lad was 4 at the time, thought it was a worthwhile investment. Two years later Clydebank folded.

Good man. I don’t think even Steve Brooker has one of those.

When I was a nipper I was always football mad but before I ever went to Rovers, for some reason my dad took me to Hillsborough to watch SWFC a few times.
I don’t really know why as he wasn’t a football man and certainly wasn’t a Wednesday fan.
The first photo of me in football kit is in the blue and white stripes.
A little while later someone gave me a Wolves shirt and I wore that quite a lot too for playing in.
Anyway, eventually, aged ten I started going on “the Rovers special” from Moorends and found my true love football club.
