Owner   Newport County AFC Supporters Trust apparently own the ground they do ground share and may or may not have a say if or if not games go ahead. To be honest, as a retired rugby player myself, it did not matter what the ground was as long as there  was grass on it.

Hi Mick we have played on some shit tips as you well know and they were never called off I played on Odsall STADIUM and it was knee deep and the game still went ahead those were the days mate

I think this Newport match could well be our toughest match to come due to that pitch. It will be almost impossible to play our natural passing game.
They also will have their tails up after Sat 3-1 win over the 'pools'

The ground is owned by Rodney Parade Limited, not the NC Supporters Trust.

Presumably the decision to hold the rugby fixture was taken by them, and confirmed by the rugby match referee.

While the rugby official may not be under any obligation to consider other users of the facility, the company Rodney Parade Limited should have a duty of care to all licensed users of the facility.

It seems the condition of the playing surface has been a concern for some time, and with 2 rugby teams using it as well as NCFC, and with continuing drainage problems on the surface, by February it is in very poor condition.

With rain forecast this week, it is unlikely to improve much before our visit. Like at Blackpool a couple of seasons back, it is not really fit for purpose. The FL need to instruct Newport to provide a playing surface suitable to the professional game before next season.

Well Peterborough didn't kick us last season but they did play us off the park at London road 4-0
Westley was their manager an it was just DF's second game in charge for us.

I would suggest that Posh had better quality players then, a different situation at Newport where they will be fighting for the points with lesser quality players

That pitch will test us more than Newport will there's no way you can play passing football on that.

According to Hartlepool, last weekend our old mate Westley was playing the fool again.

No hot water or electricity in the visitors dressing room this time. I wonder what surprises he has lined up for Rovers next week.

Newport fans seem none too optimistic about getting the game on, given the farce over their pitch, which needs to be relaid according to the Rodney Parade Limited Company (the pitch is called Dave, btw, on the Newport forum!).

Too early by far at the minute.
