He has a valid point for me about the PC nature of football

Which is?

As far as I can see, football doesn't have a 'PC nature' byany stretch of the imagination. If it did, we'd know about more than one footballer who came out of the closet.

Yeah, its not as if each match has a token female official. How many have made it to run the line in the Prem, 3? Any of em actually made it into the middle?

Both of them are gone now so it will be interesting to see who replaces them.

Female presenters perhaps?  :cheer:

I think its right that the two got sacked!

Just hope they get replaced by female presenters with nice arses and big tits!!!

Looks like the dynamic duo are in talks with Al Jazeera.

Good call lads. Them ragheads know how to keep women in their place, eh?

Be careful what you wish for. 'Nice arses' could mean Matt Le Tissier and Paul Merson, whilst 'big tits' could get you Jamie Redknapp and Kris Kamara...

It looks like they're off to a place where their talents will be really appreciated.

I see the buffoons running the game have decided, in their infinite wisdom, to take Sian Massey off the game she was due to referee tomorrow. So the innocent victim in all this gets penalised, even though by common consent she had an excellent game at the weekend. That's going to do wonders for the recruitment of female referees, isn't it?  :S

And that could be interpretted as racist!

Double standards, eh! ;)

It's just \"banter\", it can't possibly be racist - just like Keys and Gray's \"banter\" can't possibly be sexist. Your reasoning, not mine. And you fell for it, that's why I wrote it.

Do you know the reasoning behind the decision or are you making your own up?

Oh, I knew it was in jest and you were mucking around, just like Keys and Gray were also mucking around last weekend!

Bot of course, too many people on this planet are holier than thou and wouldn't put a foot wrong! Would they...

The point is, if the linesman had been black, and they were caught saying that wogs don't know the offside rule, would you still be defending their 'banter'?

As for not putting a foot wrong, yes I do. Quite often. And I have to face the consequences of doing so when I do it. As should everybody. Even you.

And the thing is, I took your comment completely out of proportion and called it racist. Just like a lot of people, including yourself and Thin-white-holy-shamoly, took the former Sky duo's comments completely out of context.

Something that's racist or sexist doesn't stop being racist or sexist just by changing the 'context'. In this case, your use of 'context' seems to imply that just because it was intended to be said privately that it somehow wasn't sexist and therefore acceptable.

Well, Radio Five stated the FA's reasons for doing it. And I agree with them.

iam still with that it was just banter and in that
it was only a joke from andy gray directed at the complexity
of the offside rule and not the inabilty of the lineswomen.
