Team v Coventry.

If we gain a playoff place on Tuesday due to the Peterborough result what would your team be. Would you rest player and avoid any unwanted sending off or would you stick with the side to get some momentum going???

For me it would need Coventry not to win today as well. I am old enough to remember Rovers having to beat League Leaders Aldershot 7-0 to go top in 1969 .... and we won 7-0. Granted it was mid-season and not the last game though.

Disagree sorry. We want to win next week no matter whether we need to or not.
As I said winning is a habit and not too bad a one to have.
That after all is the purpose of playing isn’t it?

I think there's an EFL rule that states something like 10 of the previous match day squad have to be involved in the next game.

I only said a few not all 11 let say marquis plays gets injured Wilks gets sent off Marko Whiteman and Kane pick up knocks all could have been avoided if we are already up.

Obviously if we need the points then yes we go out all guns blazing but sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture

There is always a risk of injuries. Momentum every day of the week.
Opinions differ that’s why we have a discussion forum.

I can't see there being many changes from yesterday, although I'd certainly give Sadlier a start.

Downing was only subbed because he was on an early booking then committed another foul just before half time. I expect it will be him and Butler.

Problem with us at the moment is looking at the teams in the play off positions we probably have the least consistency or momentum. You sometimes wonder which rovers team is going to turn up from one half to another never mind from game to game. Having said that, once you're in the play offs its a three game knockout, winner takes all

As previously posted it depends on how Tuesday goes, but if goes okay for us , I would rest 4 or 5 Copps ,Marosi,Whiteman,Kane,Wilks to keep them fresh and prevent injury. I wouldn’t rest Marquis as in my opinion he’s the one player who needs to play to keep his sharpness up, but sub him after an hour or so .

On to Tuesday now Peterborough could draw then would need us to lose and they win with a 11 goal swing.
Peterborough lose and playoffs are secured.

Get some players rested. It’s been a long hard season for some. Wilks and Kane first competitive seasons. Sadliers played a season and a half. Marquis plays almost every minutes and copps could do with a rest!

I’d give a different formation a try out, 4-3-3 is not our friend at the moment

I’d certainly play the bench, more match fitness for them

Rest Kane, whiteman, Copps and Wilkes. For me their our best 4 players so need to keep them fit and ready for play offs.

If you rest those 4 i would not fancy our chances one little bit against a full strength Coventry team.
Yes i can here you saying it won’t matter. But it does matter, winning is a habit and i want us to win every match. Yes i know that isn’t going to happen of course but the fans who turn up paying good money expect to see the strongest available team playing.
We should get at least ( I hope ) 8.000 home fans on Saturday and if we get beat because we played an under strength team i think that is unacceptable.
They will also have a full week to rest before the 1st leg which is plenty.
Anyway this is all irrelevant at the moment because if Posh do the unthinkable on Tues we will HAVE to play a full strength team.
