How come Rotherham can go through a 'meticulous' recruitment process with over 50 applicants and appoint a manager in 11 days, whilst we're still messing about almost 5 weeks down the line? And appoint someone who we allegedly approached before Dickov got the sack?
I'm all for taking our time and appointing the right man but this is getting ridiculous now.
I'm even more convinced now they wanted to give the job to Jones and feel they can't because results and performances, in general, have not been good enough.

Because the club decided that this the way they feel produces the best and most appropriate manager
It is exactly the same process that we undertook last time but as that was the close season there wasn't the pressure

Why is it a joke or disgraceful to have due diligence in selecting a new manager?

I can understand fans being frustrated and/or disappointed at the time this is taking, but this choice of words is a little OTT don't you think?

So, if you include NR and Jones that is only 4 interviewees? Do you really think that is the case?

Don't forget how much the summer transfers were done behind the scenes - why not the manager post too? We may well get someone no one has mentioned yet.

But if we get Ferguson, that doesn't mean that those of you who say it is either him or Clark, were right.

And what do you mean by cheap option? The owners/board are astute businessmen, and if they think they should pay a few grand more for the right manager, then I am sure they will.

We are a club in the bottom four of league 1. We have a side that have not been good all season. Who ever we attract at this time as got a big job on their hands to get us playing better.

The CEO and owners should have made this decision in the summer then the new man could have brought in his players to suit the style he wanted to play. Instead we allowed PD to bring in good players on paper but could not put round pegs in round holes.

Let's see who we get the choice maybe limited we are not a big hitter managers can pick and choose same as our board.

Barry, I just find it very hard to believe that there hasn't been some sort of disruption to the process. And I would evidence that comment thus: ok, give Jones a game or two to see how things went, and if things picked up markedly maybe give him tha job to the end of the season or whatever. Now that hasn't happened so let's go to plan b. I think - and obviously I don't know anything at all - but I still think that plan b was Neil Redfern ( I reckoned he was plan a at one stage but maybe not) problem is, plan b has now told us to bugger off and gone to Rotherham instead for whatever reason. Maybe because he reckons Rotherham are a better bet, or maybe because we've pratted him around too much.
Now obviously, all that is speculation. But one thing that is not speculation is the absolutely bloody ridiculous amount of time it's taking us to get a manager. In my opinion, for what it's worth, we should have had someone in after the Barnsley game as we don't have a game today. Or maybe they still wanted to give Jones the job at that stage but after another inept performance at York have decided not to.

For what it's worth, I'd be delighted with Ferguson. Done it more than once at this level

How is Lee Clark any more bargain basement than Redfearn? Redfearn has little to no experience. Rotherham have taken a big risk on him. Odds are against him being in his job next year.
