Glad All Over!

What about when we score instead of the repeated boring music we have why not have that song glad all over. Blackpool use it and I can remember when we went to Bloomfield road and they scored, when the music played and they all chanted to it it was very loud i must say!
I think its certainly better than that rubbish we have now which you mostly hear at lower league clubs!

It'd be a big yes from me, but I think the current song is there for the kids, allows them to jump around. But Glad all over would get a good \"after goal atmosphere\" going in the stadium.

Personally I like doing this too. When I go to football I don't care what people think - I go to have a bit of fun. If that includes jumping around (which it does for me) then I'm happy to join in with that.

im the same, the \"problem\", for want of a better word, is that there are a lot of people who try to put a strict definition on what an atmosphere \"is\", which is why we get lots of people who think particular chants are \"cringeworthy\" or who refer to people as being \"happy clappers\" and the like. for me the atmosphere is about whatever people want to make it, i like to have a bit of a bounce around at the football, its a bit of fun for me.

I know what you mean. Personally, I'd like to stand for the whole game, but the people around me don't, so I can't without pissing anyone off.

Goal music is a painfully horrible addition to football. Surely a goal should be the one catalyst for enough crowd noise to prevent the need to be soundtracked. Let alone by some south-coast ska-punk that has nowt to do with us.

That said...

...if it is unavoidable, as it sadly seems to be, then this must be Rovers' goal music.

Centrefold would be amazing and so easy to go along with.  Used to love the popside singing it.  And it would be ours

Maybe not as goal music but could we make that into a chant?

Haven't we already tried to be Palace mk2 with the \"we love you\" song? taking their anthem doesn't do it for me.

I wonder if Rovers would be interested in having a sponsored silence after a goal. I'd certainly throw a tenner in the collective pot if it meant the removal of Tom Hark.*

*says the hypocrite who was bouncing up and down to said tune like a five year old on Saturday.

Actually, they stole it from us. Last season at Palace away we sang it, and they stole it from us. The drummer knows a guy near me who told us about it.

Behave. They have run out to it for years. It was even their, admittedly very poor cover version, cup final song in 1990. Check it out in youtube

Edit: On a reread I assume you are actually referring to the 'We Love You' and not the finest work of The Dave Clark Five.

I hate goal celebration music with a passion, I'll celebrate a goal the way I want to. It ruins the experience for me, just like women and kids at football. No place for them!
To top it off we currently have THE worst, most cringeworhy goal celebration music. Just seeing thousands of plastics jumping round to that shit song when we score just pisses me off, because 30 seconds later they are just sat back down in silence again not saying a word.
Having said that, 'glad all over' is the lesser of the eivils of goal celebration music. So if the club insist on having the music, at least have one that is a little less cringeworthy.

I'm not a plastic, thank you very much, I'm simply celebrating a goal \"the way I want to.\"

And I'm not \"just sat back down in silence again not saying a word\" either.

You can't please everyone so for those lacking in taste we should obviously go for 'White Man in Hammersmith Palais', http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4rC3gP2hXk&feature=related nothing really to do with us but singing it might get us a few more minutes on the tv, and cool points?  Trust me on this one.

And if not then how about this

This is an embarrassing thread lads.  \"Glad All Over\" has been Palace's anthem for decades.  The Dave Clark Five were from Croydon, that's why.  Our only link, through JR' industry specialism, is that Dave Clark went in for quite a bit of the ol'plastic surgery years ago, but in his case it turned out a bit, er, sub-optimal.  Private Eye used to call him the \"Mahogony Gargoyle\".  Harsh...

That would be brilliant. So many happy memories of that song on the old popside (as a fully paid up member of the popside dozen)

If we're going to discuss goal celebration, walk-out or anthem music, why don't we borrow the theme tune from an old and defunct TV programme?

Everton and Watford use the theme from Z cars so it does work. As a suggestion we could use the theme from any one of a number of old programmes. Airwolf, Knight Rider, Crystal Maze, etc.
