Cardiff are trying to offload him, but it seems he failed a medical at Coventry according to Wikipedia;

I hope he has lowered his wage demands as well, or Cardiff are picking up some of the tab. £9k per week seems OTT to me, but lets see if he is the missing ingredient.

It does suggest Sharp and Brown might be a bit longer getting back into the frame after the injuries than we hoped.

Just hope he's match fit and can remember how to score after his lean Cardiff spell. 31 goals in 78 starts and 31 sub appearances for Preston which is better than Hayters and Browns rate.
