Come on do you really think Copps at nearly 40 yrs of age is going to be able to play a wing back role.
That is the one position where you really do need legs.

The opposition maybe a few levels below us but they will have young players with high levels of energy.
If you want a giant killing then playing Copps wing back might give you your wish.

He will not play Copps at wing back. Don’t think he favours that system anyway. Thank goodness. I do not like it one little bit.
DF has put me off it for life. I am still having nightmare flash backs.

Hell of a formation, though a bit wide open on the left 😅

Play the strongest team, the prize money even in the early rounds will be a welcome addition to the clubs dwindling finances.

We must play our strongest team, this match is the most important of the season for obvious reasons and must be treated as such.

How about you lot stop worrying over a very low placed team that shouldn?t theoretically get near our second string ..... I want to see every fringe player on that park including the young ones we kept.....this is a stroll in the park for even our weakest team , I?d let Fej get about 3-4 before subbing him at half time.....

This is not , I repeat,  NOT, ! ? a banana skin ?

and our homegrown young keeper should get a full 90 mins

6/7 nil, fej 4 and others getting a bit of shooting practice...

Lighten up you lot, ya putting too little faith in what we have on the fringes...
How do you know this match could not be a banana skin? Do you have the ability to see into the future?
Or are you just trying to be your usual controversial self?   ;)   :)

There is absolutely nothing controversial about being positive........................................mmmm or is there?

If we play our strongest team and this proves to be the straw that broke the camels back ( regarding muscle pulls and injuries) when a weaker Rovers team ( resting those with hard yards) could just as easily trounce these masquerading post office, order picking nobodies on any given Sunday ..

I will let you know about it..🤙

Our strength is......our strength

Not many more positive than myself.

There is being positive and there is also an attitude of complacency about this match in your post.
That’s all I am saying.
Playing too many players that have played very little this season would imo be dangerous.
There is almost always at least one league club that goes out to a non league club in the 1st round.

We must make sure it is not us. This season of all seasons it is important the club gets as much revenue in as is possible.

If we get beaten after making numerous changes to the line up can you imagine the reaction on this forum.

I will say no more.

As Sims is only here while the next transfer window will he allowed toplay in the FA cup. Southhampton may not want him cup tied. The other loanees are here for the season.
I have picked to play but if he?s not allowed to play then Williams May come in.

Remember, Copps played right wing back under SOD and as I remember did a very, very good job.

I recall people said at the time, " I wonder?"

Remember Birmingham at home? Two goals where they targetted Copps. It just isn?t a position that would suit him for me

Is thst why Easy has Amos playing in front of Copps with Anderson just behind? Extra protection?

Copps to play on the right. Amos on the left with 3 centre backs.

Copps starting? & as a wing back - dont make me laugh!
Never ever in a game like this !
They will hustle, chase, niggle , kick lumps (just like chorley did).....we need as much strength, fitness, resilience as possible.

All the qualities you say we need is a perfect description of James Coppinger!. Even at 39 Copps is one of the fittest players in the squad.

Copps has 30 mins per game max in him now.
His impact on games is less & less. Slows the game down.
Still got great close control (superb even) but that isn't enough IMO

Leave it to the manager ( managers) they are the ones responsible whatever the result.
I like a lot would like to think we are strong enough to get game time into a few players, but personally I like to start a game with a strong line up and respond during the game to the situations that arise during play, substitutes can get that game time into players if the game is going well, and the players don't have so much pressure on their shoulders who come on.

Sha66y your talking like you have never seen Rovers play in the FA Cup before.

Since my time 1975 watching Rovers we have made the 4th round on only 3 occasions ( the last 32 ) and the 5th round once. ( the last 16 )

On one of the occasions we reached the 4th round we started in the 3rd round as we were in the Championship.

That is a pretty awful record over 46 seasons. Is it not?
In fact it is horrendous and as Brian ( Selby ) keeps pointing out must be one of the worst records in the entire Football League.

Campsall, what on Earth has any of that to do with the players we have now, or the fact that we're playing a team from the Northern Premier League, who are 4 tiers below us?

Steve we are 0-0 with 90 minutes to go against another football side, we have no advantage at all, we have the same number of players and just happen to play at a higher standard, and nothing will be decided until the 90 minutes, plus penalties if required has forced a result one way or the other.
It is by no means a given we will win the tie, we will have to earn the right, take them lightly and thinking all we have to do is turn up is asking for trouble.

Brian, you've completely missed the point of my post, which is that past history has nothing whatsoever to do with tomorrow's game.

Do you really think the club gave Copps a 12 month Contract based on playing the odd 30 minutes every so often?
